you are asking the wrong question. no problem, many people before you have attempted the same fate, with predictable results. there are more than one way to skin a cat, how do you want to skin yours? Here's some examples of ES traders... TraderA makes quick trades... he would be in and out of the market before you can blink your eyes. He averages 50 trades a day, sometimes more, sometimes less. He makes 1 to 2 ticks per trade. His win rate is 90%. When he loses, he loses 5 to 10 ticks. Is he a good trader? Is he making money? Would you like to trade like him? TraderB is a slow trader.. He makes an average of 10 trades a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. He has a 40% win rate. When he wins, he makes 4 pts, He always has a 2 pt stop. (assume he fills at 2 pts) Is he a good trader? Is he making money? Would you like to trade like him?

many traders have experienced this: 99% win for 20 days of the month, then lose it all in one trade.

nice charts. they seem to tell a lot of stories. can you add some notes on the chart? maybe an arrow pointing to something obvious that we should pay attention to? you know, what is obvious to you is oblivious to us.

if you have not taken a programming course in high school or university, I would not suggest you to start C++ or C# now. Not because you are too stupid to learn, not because it is impossible to learn, but realistically, if you have not taken a course in school, starting now is time consuming. Note that I did not say you cannot do it. It just takes a bit more effort. If you are keen on programming your own strategy, don't get discouraged. There are alternatives better suited to the retail traders than C++/C#. You can try EasyLanguage. It is designed for non-programming traders.

my code is for the current year only. if you need a multi-year random searchable look back, you will need to set up a database. ie. you will need an array to store the history.
