  1. There is a good freeware program to control startup programs called Autoruns that includes a line description of the entries and tabs according to entry type for easy selection.
  2. Charts showing an example application
  3. aaa, Reference pages 2 and 8 in Word Doc for the examples I mentioned: MapID = MapNN.Share(“Distribution”); Value1 = MapXY.Put(ID, Key, Value); MyValue = MapXY.Get(ID, Key); Example of how to pass the variable MapNQ = MapNN.Share("NQLevel1"); Value4 = MapNN.Put(MapNQ,NQ1,up); Example of how to receive the variable MapNQ = MapNN.Share("NQLevel1"); Value4 = MapNN.Get(MapNQ,NQ1); Plot1( Value4, "MapNQ" ) ; Hope this helps
  4. I have used ELCollections API and can give you one example using Market Profile. With functions such as “MapNN.Share” and “MapNN.Put” embedded in the standard 30 min MP chart code, it’s possible to transfer the developing profile levels to plots in other workspaces and their charts (e.g. 1 min 5 min, etc.) using functions such as “MapNN.Get.” Very useful and very good documentation, imo.
  5. I don't trade the FTSE or use Spreadbetting. But I have used this calc tool in the past and that field is used for minimum price movement. I would stick with the value as defined in the futures contract specification.
  6. This should be the Minimum Price Movement for your contract. For FTSE 100 try 0.5.
  7. I found this post on "T-shirts" interesting and have nominated it accordingly for "Topic Of The Month December, 2008" Earmarking this one for PDF creation.
  8. Had to get one in before it dies
  9. From a 30 min. MP perspective I see the level as being significant recently and may be an area of interest currently.

  11. I found this post on "Exits and Scale-outs" interesting and have nominated it accordingly for "Topic Of The Month November, 2008"
  12. Rename the files to .xml extensions and then import into the MC editor (you might have to change the "File of Type" in the import dialog to xml for the files to show. Then run through the complier.

I prefer this option and it should show improvement with the smaller TF chart you are working on implementing (I have found a tick chart in the area 20 ticks for NQ) does a pretty good job. Since you are familiar with 1-2-3 patterns, I would consider looking for these as entry patterns on your small TF chart. They do show some S/R level holding strength before retest. These patterns should appear often (instead of the PA bouncing up and down on a single 1 minute bar) and provide better definition of your entry/stop placement imo. P.S. Good Work!
  15. Hello Chat Junkies, If you set audible alerts in your trading, here's a site that creates quick .wav files for alerts in your own words. http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php Good Trading,
  16. Great idea atto. Little nuggets of info pop up all the time in the room. Now we can explore those in more detail.
  17. brownsfan, MultiCharts just released their new scanner module (Radar Screen clone) in the 4.0 beta. I haven't tried it yet so not sure if all the functionality is in place yet.
  18. I don’t know if this will help or not but maybe you just need to back up. Maybe start with a simple system/strategy that can produce a positive result with a limited (and strict) rule set. Now, with some strict MM rules sim trade the rules exactly. Practice the execution of those rules over and over exactly. There’s no room for intuition at this point. This should quickly give you usable information that’s easy to separate between strategy and the execution of the strategy. And, maybe a different way to approach your efforts.
  19. IMO, over time calculated pivots became so popular with retail traders they became a Self Fulfilling Prophesy and some kind of bounce, pause, or even a reversal may happen. I agree that one should look left to see if real chart S/R is present. S/R is created by an inability to facilitate trade (prior swings which can be S/R upon a test) or heavy trade facilitation (which produces congestion). A trade using pivot calculations without confluence of one or the other may not be the best way to go.
  20. You have a good thread going here. I’m also a fan of confluence but feel the first S/R should start with price itself. Congestion areas where a high level of trading activity has taken place. VAPs do a good job of spotting these unless the PA created multiple areas of distribution that VAPs may miss. Now, the use of your fibs, pivots, etc. can form confluence with these areas. This may offer some reduction in the number of areas one must focus on. Just a thought
  21. Ensign Software has tick-by-tick replay with speed adjustment. Replay files are loaded from a historical file library or you can create a file from the day's data. I haven't used the software in a while so details of this functionally may have changed.
  22. Don't know how many use AmiBroker here. Are you aware of the Yahoo groups that support the software? General group: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/amibroker/ Function Library: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/amibroker-afl/
  23. It doesn't always catch up with me using Firefox. Today what i did was use 2 tabs, one with the room and one with TL home page. When the room froze I'd go to the home tab and reenter the room from the top.
