  1. Hi Everyone, Long time lurker seeking feedback on the strategies employed in the above mentioned book. I see they are selling the Tradestation set of indicators for almost 500 usd. However the strategies are detailed in the book. Has anyone experimented with these yet? Any interesting findings?
  2. I think this is an excellent way of putting it, letting winners run is a question of risk tolerance. Perhaps even more important than our equity balance is our patience threshold. Without patience to let a trade signal, or the market-- if you are a pure price action type of trader--take you out at a profit or a loss, your risk of being wrong will never even come in to play. And certainly when you look at historical charts of all the great trades in our lifetime, we can be sure that without question, all great trades have tested our patience. Look at a monthly chart of the EURO for example. Right now the Monthly chart is in a massive phase of consolidation. The trend is clearly down however. But who among us has the patience to hold on to a winner for more than a few days or weeks to see it really pay off?
  3. Great idea except the language we take for granted as traders doesn't translate very clearly to a non-trading programmer. A true test of the robustness of ones system is if can pass the einstein test. Can a kid understand it?
  4. anyone have any experience with collective2? I was thinking it could be rather lucrative, for the small traders, if you could get an autotrade agreement with a broker or two.
  5. imo the 30 year is better for swing trading. Try the 10 year as it has alot more daytraders jumping in and out adding more volatility. I tried daytrading the 30 year several times and it just doesn't keep pace with the market as well as the shorter maturities. Best of luck regardless
  6. Yes, I was referring to the difference between the bid and the ask. So the OSE mini trades through the lunch break? I assume you mean T for the morning session and T+1 for the afternoon session? This contract trades during the US session? This is great news as I was testing out some swing setups on my spread brokers charts and there were some huge gaps. Thanks for the great info!
  7. Following up on the mini nikkei I tried to extract some info from the infinity futures help desk. They said a demo on the mini is not possible. I also asked about the average spread but they didnt seem to know. Anyone who trades this already care to shed some light? In the spreadbet feed I have been messing with, its about 15 points which I assume is actually just 3 ticks? 3x500 yen (per tick). Can anyone confirm my guess?
  8. I'm a huge fan of opera. It's easily the fastest browser you can use and it can handle 99% of the on-line bells and whistles you may or may not want to use. It even has a built-in e-mail and news reader (rss) so you dont even have to leave the software to get all your mailings done. I wish they were a public company, I would be a buyer.
  9. Here's a good one: http://books.google.com/books?id=Tay-G1Bx2KkC&printsec=frontcover&dq=trading&lr=&as_brr=0&ei=9tlxR6z4HaCQtwOL2KGeBw&rview=1&sig=oPhCJ0raqpsstXlD_dX4E05L2sA
  10. I didn't see where on his blog he explains how he creates his buy zones. Anyone have more info?
  11. I can say that the community here coupled with the chat room is quite close to the value of a paid service. Perhaps if 2500 usd was a small amount of money, I would give it a thought. But it's probably better just to stick it in my account and test out some theories I learned here instead. Congrats on becoming a profitable trader, whatever means to get there I say!
  12. Are the mp files for RT investor free?
  13. Using 6.0 version still has quite a few bugs. Better than nothing but still not on par with the paid version refered to earlier in this thread (or even the ensign profile).
  14. Had the same thing happen myself. They asked me why I hadn't paid for their course, asked a few questions and then popped the question, "if the method is so clear why not make a template with entry and exit signals." {kick} Seems like they are pushing harder and harder lately to create a buzz about the room with gossip on the boards. Taking a page out of Paris Hilton's book =) Good on them, at least someone should become fabulously rich for selling market profile setups. No sense sharing and gaining from the free flow of ideas. {kick} :crap:
