They got the message - to go to North Carolina and elsewhere to buy their assault weapons and bring them back to the hood and commit their crimes.

Should have stayed in the area they bought from and killed (or be killed) there instead. But you go with what you know. Either way ignorance all around.

actually the exact opposite should be done. allow more gun ownership AND more powerful gun ownership so the bad guys can be stopped "dead" in their tracks.

regulating guns won't solve the problem.,,more, and more powerful guns will. just look at mexico who makes it illegal to own a firearm unless purchased from a special government store and it is very difficult to do so... it has not stopped violence and it has gotton so bad i can no longer drive my moto in mexico because of the violence.

police quit and leave their jobs and even at least one entire police department quit and walk off the job because they are outgunned by the bad boys.

the bad boys even announce on the radio BEFORE hand which police they are going to kill next and in a few hours they show up dead.

so you think a little love to these bad boys will stop them??

Why do you think they "announce on the radio BEFORE hand which police they are going to kill next" Patuca :confused:

Could it be anything to do with spreading F-E-A-R and maintaining their power over the law-abiding people?

You know NO ONE has any power over you, unless you G-I-V-E them that power.

You do that every time you value your life above freedom for your family. The radio station should be taken

off the air for broadcasting that crap.

It is a very simple thing, but you make it sound complicated.

People know who the thugs are, but protect them out of fear for their lives - yet they are STILL just as likely to

be killed as not.

You scoff at me for mentioning LOVE as a way to deal with them. But you misunderstand.

John 15:13 Says: Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

No one says that a man throw away his life for his friends. But there comes a time when the sacrifice

of a life is all their is left to deal with these thugs, and the wise and powerful grouping of a determined body

of people, united in their quest to rid the land of the scourge, can succeed through a bloody battle and

a worthy sacrifice.

Such things are not done in a foolhardy and egotistical suicide. Far from it.

The opposite of this is what we have today - a fear-cowed society in Mexico, disorganised (divided between

loyalty to evil family members they protect, and the peaceful life they desire) make the choice to live under fear.

I am no expert on such things - but I had a grandfather at Gallipoli in 1915, and a father in new Guinea against the

invading Japanese in 1943. A great uncle was the only prisoner captured by the Japanese on Australian soil,

and was beheaded by them, after days of beatings.

war crimes

Do you think this would stop me also coming against an enemy if called upon.

Well, I simply do not know, but I hope not. I once faced down a group of bikies with my heart pounding almost out

of my chest, and they backed down (= decided to leave us alone).

Another story. But I think after that, I would have a little courage.

Your way = more guns.

How is that working out right now?

The "war" is no longer off-shore - the war is in our back yards now, and the effort required is no lesser than

that needed to rid ourselves of former enemies.

The way you are bleating on about needing more guns, is exactly what they want - they know there is a Mexican

stand-off. You are doing what they want - spreading more fear, and giving these bullies and cowards greater status

that they deserve. They are nothing but smut, yet you spread the fear of them like a religion!

rant again....

of course, they would switch to their justification if the reasons to the right to bear arms does not make sense...

like... more people died from automobile accidents than guns.

more people died from obesity than guns

more people died from abortion than guns

more people died from drugs than guns

how do you tell people it is childish to make comparison like that?

this is no justification at all.

they knew it won't hold water, but they are backed against a corner, so incomparable stats is better than no stats.

I don't agree. If a large gun toting male who eats a Burger King Whopper with Cheese every day tripped and fell on your I think the greatest impact to your body would result from the accumulated Whopper with Cheese consumption than it would from him carrying a gun every day. I would like to see a study on it.

One needs to look at all the data to make a fair assessment of the impact of changing a variable. It is not possible that if guns were banned that murder rate with guns would go up. I am sure this is a hypothesis that I could easily prove if I took the time.

A few other variables to consider are drug consumption rates, changes in law enforcement, economic conditions, abortion laws, etc.

Interesting point there MM

Someone posted earlier that Switzerland dropped their crime rate etc by introducing free injecting rooms etc.

They tried this in Sydney for a few years, but didn't hear any changes in these kinds of stats.

The jury might still be out on that.

Welcome To The Sydney MSIC

But I believe in Switzerland they also supply the juice?

Yes I know and agree completely.

The nutz like to point out high crime cities that put in place tough restrictions as failures when in the grand scheme of things these are just specks on a map surrounded by a mass of states where weaponry is freely available over the counter at WalMart, good old boy Bubba's Gun Shack and "gun shows".

There are more places of business that see guns in America than Starbucks locations.

NRA's brilliant suggestion post a armed guard (or 2 or 3 or 4 etc) in every school.

Now why didn't I think of that. :roll eyes:

So what happened today after they said ......... not much yesterday:

Gunman kills woman at Pa. church, 2 men elsewhere

Gunman kills woman at Pa. church, 2 men elsewhere - Nation - The Boston Globe

So ........ I guess we need to put armed gunmen in every church. And armed gunmen in every supermarket ........... and in every etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.

I miss the good olde days when you could go to the airport to pick up your folks, and you could walk right inside the luggage pick up area and grab the bags yourself. Nobody stops you or asks to see your ID. Good olde days.

They should have"Fly at your own risk" flights. Cheap with no security. You get a box cutter with your ticket. So evryone has a box cutter. Let me see someone get out of his seat on that flight.

That article is a follow-up on another that had nothing to do with guns, but on RT programming and its alter-agenda, and false-flag reporting.

Those who read the first (below) would understand the gist of the second of Anthony Wile's essays, above.

Tams, I thought it was long, long before 1996 since policemen didnt carry guns ever since I was born. And Im around over 50 years. This IS wonderful, but how did they enforce it? It could only stop the hunters and sportsmen. The criminals would still carry guns on the sly,no?

And whatever they did use to enforce this ban, why hasnt the US even suggested this, why havent all the anti-gun lobbyists mentioned how England did it? Id love to know this!

Great post. I need to look up how many shooting deaths in England occur each year.

Mouse, What does this thread make you realize. It makes me reflect on the Gun fanatics position of extreme polarity, and how the human mind is so apt to do this. On ANY subjecut. I am stunned to say that here on a trading form, the most "level-headed" comments are being presented on this subkect than on any other forun Ive seen. It goes to show that many of us should be in politics and not trading, doing something about these matters rather than watching charts. It is a beautiful thing to see people having a calm discussion over matters of life and death.

Let me take both sides in a nutshell"

1-CON: Now about the gun argument vs abortion, cars and other things that kill. That is the most imbicilic argument I ever heard of. We cannot live without cars anymore. 3/4 of the country could not get to work. That alone justifies the automobile. But yet, isnt there an argument that DOES hold water about cars......BUYING MORE CAR THAN YOU NEED! Dont sane, caring environmentalists tell us we can get off Arab oil dependence if we trade in our SUV'S and gas guzzling cars? And so wouldnt that equate to a compromise that one gun can be allowed in every family home. But it must stay home in the house as yes, police cant help you if a break in by a gang of thugs occurs ion your home. So maybe then its justified. We CAN compromise. Oh, and the gun must be gig enough so it cannot be CONCEALED! (that alone will stop hundred of murders, probably 50% of all murders per yr by gun.)

2- PRO: "Taken from a sign on the wall at my local gun shop. "It takes seconds for someone to break into your home." And dont worry....the police will be there in just minutes!"

This is true, Over 85% of police calls, the police arrive to either clean up the mess or take the report. They do not do any PREVENTION AT ALL!***

**** This statisitic backs the argument that guns should be allowed in the home. And even then with restrictions. No felons, people with history of violence and for Gods sake, noone who has had a restraining order against them or has proven to police they are not emotionally stable should be alllowed to own guns let alone get a concealed carry permit which the only requirement is a 2 hour class and to have no criminal record. OH......MY.....GOD! Is this the best selection proces American lawmakers could come up with? no! no! no!

Which then lead us to another rediculous NRA statement: "Guns dont kill .people do."

My mother died in a car crash 2 years ago because she couldnt see the tree on the meridian on a darkly lit street. I dont blame the tree!

But if there was a gang shootout at that same place and as my mother drove by she was killed by a stray bullet, yes I would blame the gun, the person who fired it, and the NRA for letting that youth/thug/criminal from getting his hand on it.

In New York, where carrying a gun is an automatic 1 yr minimum prison sentence, Id like to see stats on that. What if we went a step further and really ENFORCED a law that said any person with a criminal record carrying a gun will get 10 yrs to life depending on what thier previous record is.If they were convicted of any violent crime its life in prison. You bet it would deter at least 40% of criminals from carrying.

Im still dying to know how England can enforce their no gun policy law.

most of the gun zealots are quite confused...

on one hand, they claimed the right the bear arms is to guard against a tyranny government.

like, get real, like as if they can out gun the givernmint.

or, as if the republic U S of A is ever going to be tyrannic. Towards other countries maybe, but towards its citizens? come on, you elected those bastards, you own themn. If you don't like them, don't put them in office in the next time around. You have the house and the senate, with elections every 2 years, the most you have to endure is 24 monthes.

on the other hand, they argue that they want to bear arms to guard against a 280 lb monkey.

now that is beyond me as well... if the monkey knows that you are armed to the hilt, and the monkey is intended on hurting you, he ain't gonna hit you when you have the gun pointing at him. He will hit you when you are least expected. Go look up the stats in those gun liberal states, the armed innocents got kill just the same.

oh boy one confused cookie.

rant off.

Tams, Im just as confused myself. What chance would we all have against the Army of the United STATES if our govt ever became fascist or socialist and we didnt like it. However if you saw a 280lb animal attacking a woman or raping or intimidating another, yes there ARE many course of action you could take. Here is one given to me 30 yrs ago by a cop, "If someone pulls a knife on you....start to run away, if he chases you come to a dead stop, turn around and shoot him. If you have no weapon. Turn to your side and side kick him throwing all your weight into it and break his knee cap. If he doesnt chase you, nothing to worry about."

...Better yet, what if the school was ringed with a minefield? Yeah. And concertina wire. What if we mounted .50Cal machine guns in turrets at each corner of the playground and manned them with experienced combat Marines? Maybe a tank guarding the parking lot? A couple of TOW launchers on the roof and the crossing guards equipped with illuminators ready to laze anybody who looks suspicious. And we’ll probably need a Patriot battery on the front lawn, you never know when some deranged lunatic will hijack a jetliner and try to fly it into fourth period algebra.

How long do you suppose it will be before we start referring to the schools as “Camp Liberty?”

You don’t sign your kids up for school, no, they enlist.

And of course, there’s the religious schools – when they say onward Christian soldiers, they ain’t kidding, folks. Instead of Wal-Mart, you’ll shop for school supplies at Sportsman’s Warehouse.

Hell, why stop there?

What if we tagged all guns and gun owners in the country with RFID chips that could be read from orbiting satellites and when they get too close to a school, or a restaurant, or a Safeway, or a movie theater, the CIA could unleash a Hellfire missile from a loitering Global Hawk and vaporize the bastard in the gun shop parking lot? more

I am surprised this comes from a 50 yrs old. This is like, saying why do you need a driver's license? how do you enforce it? you are not going stop every car to check, and the drunk driver who lost their license is going to driver and kill people anyway.

I guess the key words are... "if you saw a 280lb animal attacking a woman or raping.. "

The fact is, there are 280lb monkeys living everywhere. You can find them in UK, in Canada, in Japan, in Germany... in all the developed democracies in the World. I do not see any of people in these countries require to buy fully automatic assault rifles with 30+ round magazines. And I do not see more monkey attacks (any size monkey) in those countries than in USA.

The sorry fact is, people believe they can defend themselves if they are armed. The fact is, they cannot. Owning a gun only gives you a sweet feeling, and a false sense of security.
