yikes ...

Holy Guacamole... "Chances are" the 56.75 NVPOC will (?) I have NO interest in a long but ... maybe a rotation for a scalp on the short side..assuming anyone ever buys this again..

Average extended range in ES is 20pts so we might be in the ballpark... not a recommendation for a long or anything... just :2c:

Not a suggestion, just an observation since I have no interest in the long side evnthough there is a higher countertrend trade "set-up"... Long 59.00 target 63.00 and then potentially 70.00 ish extended... Just based on some stuff but NOT a trade I would take..I'd prefer to be looking at those areas for continuation trades for rotations WITH the trand but I am done - unless it sets-up in alignment with other stuff...

Once again not a good location for a long since the area was right at the NVPOC 56.75... I was not focused on it..just observing..

Where? W8th? When? tx

West Third and MacDougal. Went to law school at NYU late '90s.

Really miss the chess cafes the most. Haven't seen them in any other city. There were two on Thompson Street when I lived there.

I'll be there next month to visit. East coast hours are good to trade - can stay out late and still trade the open the next morning... LOL. Would have liked to maintain a place in Manhattan, but just too costly.

In the late 60's early 70's I used to work in clubs and we would go down there for 3am frisbee games in the street.. We actually used to toss them with the cops...

There was bar down there with a 4am license or something just off MacDougal, next to this narrow alley of townhouses..can't remerber the street name... The bar was called Shakespeares Pub... long gone by the time you got there... I refer to that time as the "good old days." :helloooo:

That was a reasonable spot to take a "walk on the wild side." IMHO..

I will exit at 58.75 for a 2 tick loss, or will close 2/3 at the low and save 1/3 for 49.

61 is a LVN, and coincides with prior 60.75 S, then R, so I am concerned it may make a run for that. But I will just let it play out.

Scaled 1/3 at 55.00

Stop on rest at 58. Don't know if we have the juice for new lows, but if we do, I've got 1/3 to close at 53.50 and 49

Yeah, Guiliani had "cleaned up" the place by then. By 4 a.m. I was usually done drinking and it was time to get a slice of cheese at Ray's. Always lots of people walking about but no frisbee games.

got 54.25, stop on final unit stays at 58, looking for low 50s, seems a bit optimistic but on a 25 handle range day so far, why not be optimistic?

Really nice volatility. You guys should get some nice mileage out of this if you get the direction right. Don't sweat the small losers. A lot of the knife catchers are going to have to square up.

MM: Wasn't it Perry Como that sang "Catch a Falling Knife, Put It in Your Pocket -Save It for a Rainy Day."

Looks fishy, out flat 54 on final unit. All in all a decent trade.

Great argument in "freakonomics" on why Guilliani shouldn't be credited for cleaning up NYC.

Bulls seem to have a bit of an aggressiveness I have not seen in the last couple of hours... weak delta indicates offers pulling more than before... not as many shorts wanting to get on board here..?

The main goal of this thread is to show what Power Trades is and how it works in different markets. We will show some patterns on the ES and NQ futures, as well as discuss possible improvements to this functionality.
      What is Power Trades?
Ok, first we will consider what the Power Trades is and how it finds zones.
Power Trades shows the zones with the execution of a large number of orders in a very short time, which will affect the price change with a high probability.
Here are a few examples of how it looks like

      How it finds zones?
There is a continuous process of placing, changing and executing orders in the market. All this affects the price change and the expectations of traders regarding the future price.
When a large order appears at a certain level, the price is more likely to come to this order and it will be executed because the market is always looking for levels with liquidity. This already applies to the order flow and the mechanics of orders matching, so we will omit the principles on which the orders are matched.
It is only important to understand that "abnormal events" occur in the market at certain times. Execution of a significant volume of orders in a very short time is one of such events.
The Power Trades Scanner has several important settings that directly affect the results:

Total Volume — the minimum value of the volume that should be traded during the specified time interval
Time Interval, sec — the time over which the Total Volume should be traded
Basis Volume Interval, sec — this parameter shows how much % took the traded volume in the total volume for the specified time.
Zone Height, ticks — this parameter will show only those zones where the height is less than or equal to the specified value (in ticks).
Level2 level count — the number of levels that are involved in the calculation of Imbalance and the Level 2 Ratio column in the table of results.
Filter by Delta,% — the parameter will show zones that have a delta value greater than or equal to that specified in the setting. The value must be specified by the module, so the table will show both positive and negative delta values. We recommend paying attention to the zones with the delta above 50% (taking into account the specifics of each trading instrument).
For example, let's set the Total Volume of 2000 contracts and Time Interval in 3 seconds on the E-mini SP500 futures. This means that the scan will be based on the available history and will show on the chart only those zones that have such a volume for the specified time.

Additionally, it is worth to set a delta value to filter out the zones with one-side trades. The more delta value, the high probability that the price will reverse.

So, as a starting point about this scanner, I think this information will be enough

      Hi everyone,
This is my maiden analysis using volume profile - so please don't hesitate to share your feedback.
As per the attached analysis, I think that SPY is primed for a short - for many reasons
      - Multiple strong rejection of long positions exist at Resistance R1 and R2 : seems like sellers defending their positions
      - Very strong short volume seen at R2 : further signifying sellers who are ready at that level
However, once the price reaches Support S1, there seems to be a strong buying sentiment which has rejected previous shorts. You can see trading ranges & pullbacks to S1 where buyers and sellers seem to agree on a price range, often leading to a buyer dominance.
      What do you think?

    • Date: 7th May 2024. Dow Jones Close To 1-Month High, Eyes on Disney Earnings. The stock market trades at a 3-week high after significant support from the latest earning reports and US employment data. Economists continue to expect a rate cut no earlier than September 2024 despite the US unemployment rate rising to 3.9%. The US Dollar Index trades higher on Tuesday and fully corrects the decline from NFP Friday. Dow Jones investors wait for Disney to release their latest quarterly earnings data. The stock holds a weight of 1.93%. USDJPY – The US Dollar Regains Lost Ground The USDJPY is an interesting pair on Tuesday as the US Dollar is the best performing currency within the market while the Yen is witnessing the strongest decline. Investors will continue to monitor as we enter the European Cash Open to ensure no significant changes. The exchange rate has been declining since the 29th of April when the Japanese Government is believed to have intervened and strengthened the Yen. However, the US Dollar has been gaining over the past 24 hours. During this morning’s Asian Session, the exchange rate trades 0.44% higher. Currently the only concern for the US Dollar is the latest employment data which illustrates a potential slowing employment sector. However, investors are quick to point out that this cannot be known simply from 1 weak month. This is the first time the NFP data read lower since November 2023. No major data is in the calendar for the next two days which can influence the US Dollar. Despite the weaker employment data and lower wage growth, investors continue to predict a rate cut no earlier than September 2024. This is something which can also be seen on the CME FedWatch Tool, which shows a 34.3% chance of rates remaining unchanged in September. In regard to the Japanese Yen, most analysts expect the next rate increase in the second half of this year depending on a stable movement of inflation. In addition, investors are monitoring the actions of financial authorities, expecting new currency interventions from them against a weakening Yen. This is the main concern for investors speculating against the Yen. However, economists continue to advise the Yen will struggle to gain even with a small rate hike, unless the rest of the financial world starts cutting rates. USA30 – Investors Turn To Disney Earnings Data! The Dow Jones is close to trading at a 1-month high and is also trading slightly higher this morning. The index recently has been supported by the latest employment data which indicates a higher possibility of rate cuts by the Fed. Today investors focus on the quarterly earnings report for Disney. Disney stocks are trading 0.37% higher during this morning’s pre-trading hours indicating investors believe the report will be positive. So far this year the stock is trading 28.40% higher and is one of the better performing stocks. Yesterday, the stock rose by 2.47% but remains significantly lower than its all-time high of $197. Currently analysts believe the earnings data will either be similar to the previous quarter or slightly lower. If earnings and revenue read higher, the stock is likely to continue rising. The stock is the 22nd most influential stock for the Dow Jones and will only influence the USA30 and USA500, not the USA100. Currently, technical analysis continues to indicate a strong price sentiment. The price trades above the 75-bar EMA and above the VWAP. In addition to this, the RSI is trading at 68.11 which also signals buyers are controlling the market. The only concern for traders is retracements. A weaker retracement could decline to $38,703, whereas a stronger retracement can fall back to $38,571. Always trade with strict risk management.
