I'll take my loss around 89.75, but if it goes north I'll scale 92.50, 93.50, and 95.50 - 97, depending.

This pooch has to make up its mind here 92.00 ish level...

Well, I scaled off first portion at 92.50, now I am risk free with a stop at 90.25, 2 ticks below average entry price. 93.50 is next target, followed by higher hopefully. But if stop is hit, I still made a profit.

I must admit that today's market is a bit different than yesterday's market. It is moving strangely--just my label for it, maybe it's heaven to some. But it's not my ideal type of behavior.

Smells like a bull to me, but then again I am long and probably biased, and have not exactly been in sync today either so we will see.

I've been late on some stuff. My levels are good but my locations have had me at a disadvantage... this mornings good work has gone the way of the doh - doh bird...

Might be jumping out of these shorts soon...

If we take out 92.75 then probably you will get your wish...

In the spirit of "don't be a dick for a tick" I closed 2nd unit at 93.25

Stop is 90.75 on final unit (BE), and will see if we can get a late day rally here to the mid/upper 90s. I'm not convinced, but it's a free trade, so will let it go. Target is "officially" 96.50.

depends whether the next downward rotation expands or contracts...

Unfortunately we only know this information (expansion or contraction) AFTER the rotation has occurred, which means that we will only have a confirmed bias AFTER we know basically whether it rotated further down (giving a short bias) or up (giving a neutral to long bias).

Or am I misunderstanding what you're saying?

True. But you have to consider whether you have a position already or are looking for a bigger move later on. Here's a 2 day profile anyway:-

I do not like the volume reaction here at 94s, so I am flat for 3.25 on the final unit at 94 even.

We're right in the middle of "value" so "price action"(:D) may well not be clean.

What's the betting we close somewhere between 91-95.50? I think if volume dwindles that is more likely. If there's a surge to close out positions ahead of the holiday it could break higher imho due to location within broader balance.

haha ;)

Certainly 97 or so is possible in these last couple of minutes, but given the way it's moving, and the reaction at 94 (bearish IMO), and given that the market will only have 10 minutes to get up there, I'd rather take my money and run... did not smell like what buying into the close should smell like. To try and be objective: not enough buying on the way up. Bids did their job at 90/91, but it takes more than bids to push like I wanted it to.

Is that called the "over/under" ?

I "think" 95.75 might get taken but the action bites it...

It looks like a new ver of IRT got released after the close or thereabouts...

I downloaded it and "possibly" the memory leak issue I was having is gone... not completely gone but I ran 3 or 4 playbacks of today and it got to about 720meg or whatever it is but nothing crashed, etc...

I might be nuts so I won't know until I can put a full day of RTH on this whether or not it will be ok... bit I did send my layout to Bill Linn to check out - maybe this is the result of that...

N: did you get your Line issue fixed?

The main goal of this thread is to show what Power Trades is and how it works in different markets. We will show some patterns on the ES and NQ futures, as well as discuss possible improvements to this functionality.
      What is Power Trades?
Ok, first we will consider what the Power Trades is and how it finds zones.
Power Trades shows the zones with the execution of a large number of orders in a very short time, which will affect the price change with a high probability.
Here are a few examples of how it looks like

      How it finds zones?
There is a continuous process of placing, changing and executing orders in the market. All this affects the price change and the expectations of traders regarding the future price.
When a large order appears at a certain level, the price is more likely to come to this order and it will be executed because the market is always looking for levels with liquidity. This already applies to the order flow and the mechanics of orders matching, so we will omit the principles on which the orders are matched.
It is only important to understand that "abnormal events" occur in the market at certain times. Execution of a significant volume of orders in a very short time is one of such events.
The Power Trades Scanner has several important settings that directly affect the results:

Total Volume — the minimum value of the volume that should be traded during the specified time interval
Time Interval, sec — the time over which the Total Volume should be traded
Basis Volume Interval, sec — this parameter shows how much % took the traded volume in the total volume for the specified time.
Zone Height, ticks — this parameter will show only those zones where the height is less than or equal to the specified value (in ticks).
Level2 level count — the number of levels that are involved in the calculation of Imbalance and the Level 2 Ratio column in the table of results.
Filter by Delta,% — the parameter will show zones that have a delta value greater than or equal to that specified in the setting. The value must be specified by the module, so the table will show both positive and negative delta values. We recommend paying attention to the zones with the delta above 50% (taking into account the specifics of each trading instrument).
For example, let's set the Total Volume of 2000 contracts and Time Interval in 3 seconds on the E-mini SP500 futures. This means that the scan will be based on the available history and will show on the chart only those zones that have such a volume for the specified time.

Additionally, it is worth to set a delta value to filter out the zones with one-side trades. The more delta value, the high probability that the price will reverse.

So, as a starting point about this scanner, I think this information will be enough

      Hi everyone,
This is my maiden analysis using volume profile - so please don't hesitate to share your feedback.
As per the attached analysis, I think that SPY is primed for a short - for many reasons
      - Multiple strong rejection of long positions exist at Resistance R1 and R2 : seems like sellers defending their positions
      - Very strong short volume seen at R2 : further signifying sellers who are ready at that level
However, once the price reaches Support S1, there seems to be a strong buying sentiment which has rejected previous shorts. You can see trading ranges & pullbacks to S1 where buyers and sellers seem to agree on a price range, often leading to a buyer dominance.
      What do you think?

    • Be careful who you blame.   I can tell you one thing for sure.   Effective traders don’t blame others when things start to go wrong.   You can hang onto your tendency to play the victim, or the martyr… but if you want to achieve in trading, you have to be prepared to take responsibility.   People assign reasons to outcomes, whether based on internal or external factors.   When traders face losses, it's common for them to blame bad luck, poor advice, or other external factors, rather than reflecting on their own personal attributes like arrogance, fear, or greed.   This is a challenging lesson to grasp in your trading journey, but one that holds immense value.   This is called attribution theory. Taking responsibility for your actions is the key to improving your trading skills. Pause and ask yourself - What role did I play in my financial decisions?   After all, you were the one who listened to that source, and decided to act on that trade based on the rumour. Attributing results solely to external circumstances is what is known as having an ‘external locus of control’.   It's a concept coined by psychologist Julian Rotter in 1954. A trader with an external locus of control might say, "I made a profit because the markets are currently favourable."   Instead, strive to develop an "internal locus of control" and take ownership of your actions.   Assume that all trading results are within your realm of responsibility and actively seek ways to improve your own behaviour.   This is the fastest route to enhancing your trading abilities. A trader with an internal locus of control might proudly state, "My equity curve is rising because I am a disciplined trader who faithfully follows my trading plan." • SELF IMPROVEMENT.   The whole self-help industry began when Dale Carnegie published How to Win Friends and Influence People in 1936. Then came other classics like Think And Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins toward the end of the century.   Today, teaching people how to improve themselves is a business. A pure ruthless business where some people sell utter bullshit.   There are broke Instagrammers and YouTubers with literally no solid background teaching men how to be attractive to women, how to begin a start-up, how to become successful — most of these guys speaking nothing more than hollow motivational words and cliche stuff. They waste your time. Some of these people who present themselves as hugely successful also give talks and write books.   There are so many books on financial advice, self-improvement, love, etc and some people actually try to read them. They are a waste of time, mostly.   When you start reading a dozen books on finance you realize that they all say the same stuff.   You are not going to live forever in the learning phase. Don't procrastinate by reading bull-shit or the same good knowledge in 10 books. What we ought to do is choose wisely.   Yes. A good book can change your life, given you do what it asks you to do.   All the books I have named up to now are worthy of reading. Tim Ferriss, Simon Sinek, Robert Greene — these guys are worthy of reading. These guys teach what others don't. Their books are unique and actually, come from relevant and successful people.   When Richard Branson writes a book about entrepreneurship, go read it. Every line in that book is said by one of the greatest entrepreneurs of our time.   When a Chinese millionaire( he claims to be) Youtuber who releases a video titled “Why reading books keeps you broke” and a year later another one “My recommendation of books for grand success” you should be wise to tell him to jump from Victoria Falls.   These self-improvement gurus sell you delusions.   They say they have those little tricks that only they know that if you use, everything in your life will be perfect. Those little tricks. We are just “making of a to-do-list before sleeping” away from becoming the next Bill Gates.   There are no little tricks.   There is no success-mantra.   Self-improvement is a trap for 99% of the people. You can't do that unless you are very, very strong.   If you are looking for easy ways, you will only keep wasting your time forgetting that your time on this planet is limited, as alive humans that is.   Also, I feel that people who claim to read like a book a day or promote it are idiots. You retain nothing. When you do read a good book, you read slow, sometimes a whole paragraph, again and again, dwelling on it, trying to internalize its knowledge. You try to understand. You think. It takes time.   It's better to read a good book 10 times than 1000 stupid ones.   So be choosy. Read from the guys who actually know something, not some wannabe ‘influencers’.   Edit: Think And Grow Rich was written as a result of a project assigned to Napoleon Hill by Andrew Carnegie(the 2nd richest man in recent history). He was asked to study the most successful people on the planet and document which characteristics made them great. He did extensive work in studying hundreds of the most successful people of that time. The result was that little book.   Nowadays some people just study Instagram algorithms and think of themselves as a Dale Carnegie or Anthony Robbins.
