  1. Thanks for the differentiation, I can see why you like the first style better. So the skinny bars on the last test show the VAH may hold up since the selling pressure has dried up right?
  2. Awesome post. I love the chart that shows what I would call the point of no return. :crap: Thanks for bumping it.
  3. You really don't know the exact volume of the cross segment. The key with volume by price is it shows where the bulk of the volume took place price wise. It gives you a key range of price value to watch for big buyer or seller pressure during a breakout of that range.
  4. Yep, I did see that and that's why there's the 90 day warranty not a full year. I added REFURB in bold to help illustrate your point. I gain nothing by posting this, I don't own Buy.com bud. Just thought I'd pass along a deal that caught my eye, and if you aren't in the market for a refurb'ed 19" lcd then so be it.
  5. I assume Tradestation supports equivolume right? I've used it somewhat in the past for stocks. I can see how your application especially combined with the tick delta indicator gives a great visual interpretation.
  6. Wait, did someone in NY say "howdy". :crap: :o I'm glad I stumbled on this site on a random Google search. Thus far this is my favorite site I've found and plan on calling it my trading home site. Quick background on me...I started in October 06' with swing trading stocks. I began as most do, with pinks/pennies and lost 50% of my equity within 2 months. I fought to learn quickly and came into this year down "only" 40%. At one point I made it up 20+% around June but started hunting for the holy grail again, though I knew price action backed by supply & demand was all that matters. I decided to try something new (futures). I've learned alot in the last 2 months. Lot's to go, but I'm pretty consistent on paper and will go live in 2-4 weeks barring any emotional setbacks. I look forward to interacting with "yall" and though I'm a moderator here it seems like a pretty professional place where adults interact on a mature level so I should have a very easy job. My name's Mike BTW or most on the web call me MC. Good trading
  7. http://www.buy.com/prod/viewsonic-x-series-19-widescreen-lcd-monitor-700-1-5ms-dvi/q/loc/101/205604765.html Just $146 for a 19" name brand lcd shipped? It's got dvi and vga, vesa 100 mountable, 1440x900 resolution. Only thing I don't like is the 90 day warranty though since it's a refurbished item. I may pick up 2 and a mount for them, my 17" laptop won't cut it when I move to Tradestation with the bells n' whistles. :o
  8. I've used OEC and Ninja on paper. Neither just fill your order when touched, they put you in line like a real trade it seems. I've gotten paper slippage on orders. That's my biggest fear of going live, not emotions but expecting fills that aren't realistic. From what I'm told and can tell this won't be an issue with how these simulators handle orders though. No internals on either yet which sucks. I can't wait to go live and just get Tradestation setup. Ninja has a sweet reporting tool and simple bracket order options. OEC has a much better OCO order setup and better chart trading. To be honest if OEC had internals I'd probably use them over Tradestation due to the no minimum trades for the platform to be free and the more attractive daytrade margins on YM.
  9. http://www.tradestation.com/popups/fees/commissions_markets/cbot.htm So if I read the above correct the $2.13 per side per car includes the exchange fee. All I need to do is ensure I trade 10 rounds per month and the platform and data is free. Well and ensure I stay profitable so I can keep paying them $4.26 per round. :o
  10. Sweet...kind of what I thought and ya can't beat free. I'll only be trading the YM so that's music to my ears. Thanks for the clarification.
  11. Very interesting. I've used volume by price before on there but never thought of using it as a value high or low concept. Seems you can use that intraday except for indicies as stockcharts.com won't plot out intraday volume.
  12. $99 for the platform if you don't meet the below criteria of 10 rounds, yet you use TS as your broker. It's $250 if you use them as a platform only and not a broker. http://www.tradestation.com/fees/platform_fees.shtm. Now the data feed I don't get. For the cbot they say free for now. But below that they show a DOM option for $50. Any ideas there guys?
  13. Great input. I'm only on paper at the moment but I can tell you when I started to scale out it made all the difference in the world. It's like having a free shot at the bonus spin on The Price is Right. Thanks for the great site and info.
