  1. Walter, I really love your video's and your humor, thanks for sharing so much of your work. I ported the FantailVMA to NinjaTrader, it can be found here. Porting was pretty easy and results look good, although I wouldn't know if it's 100% accurate.
  2. Very funny . I like the other pets a lot as well.
  3. What a call again, happy for you! Too bad i got shaken out by 4 ticks , ain't got no luck with swingin'.
  4. A bit off topic, i read NihabaAshi's hammer's revisited thread on ET and he doesn't look a volume either. Mostly using price action and WRBs, fascinating stuff, but it surely needs a lot experience to make it work.
  5. It's an interesting read, unfortunately it requires a lot of money. Dunno if it still works.
  6. Big oil sure doesn't like to let go of their profitable business which hampers the development of alternatives. Unfortunately the history of mankind is full of incidents where disaster had to strike first before we changed our mind. The production of bio fuels hardly produces more energy than it consumes. Uranium enrichment also requires energie(dunno about the efficiency) and electric cars, which are a step forward, aren't capable of going a long distance. There's still a lot of oil in tar sands, but refining it is a costly process, peak oil could make their development possible. I'd go with a combination renewable energie( tidal, wind, sun ), gas and coal power plants, nuclear energy and in a couple of decades hopefully fusion power. I like these cars: wright audio r-zero but not very efficient ones . Dunno how much potential hydrogen has. Anyhow, hold onto your hats, it's gonna get rough in the future.
  7. I actually like the idea of a premium area, spending a little money shows how serious one is about trading and contributes some cash to the board. IMO growing communities always face such a problem sooner or later, if i look at ET i am sure there is a lot of superb material there, but finding it becomes very time consuming. Newbie traders(like myself) have a lot to learn before they can contribute in any meaningful way. Some veteran traders are getting tired of having to answer basic questions over and over again, depends on the nature of the person, others just love to help. Even if lurkers don't contribute, remember just a few of them will make it. A drawback of such a premium area would be to attract new members, but if it is worth it, it could work. And in real life the elite doesn't mind to shell out a few bucks to keep among themselves.
  8. Have a safe trip doc, hope you'll have a great time if it's for fun and kicks or a successful one if it's work related. Best of course would be both. Anyhow, take care.
  9. I wouldn't count on the government, they're very inefficient, the free market is going to take care of this. Some of the oil has been too expensive to extract, with attractive prices, we'll see more reasearch, futher delevolpment of oil fields, untapped reserves and other resources. No one knows if oil has already peaked, but we'll soon find out. It's gonna be a bumpy ride, but we'll get through this.
  10. I am frequent listener to traderintviews.com, this week's interview feature a strategie that differed from most others. The guy is short selling NASDAQ stocks, because many increases in share prices of small and micro caps are just hype. Timothy Sykes Maybe he's just trying to promote his book, you decide.
  11. Sorry to hear that Reaver, feel for you. I read that Vista greatly degrades perfomance because of copyright and content protection features. Also all hardware drivers have to be rewritten for vista and authorized by microsoft. Somewhen in the future there will be no way getting around this, early adaption has always been a when it comes to MS.
  12. I don't see a reason yet to switch to vista. Sure it has the nicer user interface but i am not a bells and whistles guy, i just want it to work. Heard enough bad things about it that makes me hesitate a great deal. Someday i'll have to switch, like with win95, which i said i'd never use . Alternatives are linux and apple but i'd rather go for linux. XP runs nice'n smooth, never had to reformat anything and i still wonder what i bought that virus scanner for.
  13. Very intersting stuff thanks, my questions is though which brokers allow traders lower margin requirements for spreads. I suppose there aren't many so ROI wouldn't be fantastic but still a nice way to trade.
  14. I really like your chart analysis. The support area at around 108'13 held today but there was no upward movement. The volatility contraction over the past few days might signal a nice breakout, but have no idea in which direction that will be. Of course that's just my amteurish view of the market.
  15. IMO either up to the NYSE to provide a new clear tick indicator, your data provider, or given enough bandwith, computer power, some good ideas and the right software you can pretty much do it yourself. Also depends on how many symbols your data provider allows you to view simultaniously. MetaServer has got a trial period btw and i am in no way affiliated with the company which sells it nor getting any money from them(unfortunately). Maybe there's some other software which can do it, or it can be done inside TS. If you think it's worth the effort, give it a shot.
  16. The way i understand it MetaServer connects to the tradestation server and the tradestation platform gets its data from your local metaserver. MetaServer allows you to create your own symbols (that's how i think it works)
  17. So what's this got to do with trading? Of course there are some people who abuse other people and psychotherapist's clients are very vulnerable. Clients can become dependent on their therapists but it is not generally the case. I have no idea if and how many employ such tactics you describe but i can certainly say that they're not all bad if what you say is true.
  18. Here's some other stuff I'm not a classical music nut, but sure liked listen to it in GTA3, kinda adds to the mafiosi theme . My other fave radio station was K-Jah. Gotan Project - Diferente So much for consistency
  19. hehe, nice coincidence, i wasn't aware that their new album would be released today. hope it will be another great album.
  20. I don't know if this is any help or just garbage, it's from the ts support site and references ts2000i. MetaServer might be able to do it as well, the price doesn't seem to be so steep.
  21. From my limited knowledge i'd say that you're totally dependent on your data provider unless your charting platform lets you construct your own TICK like indicator.
  22. Very good material doc, thanks a lot. I accidentally found an interview with nassim taleb, he talks about that confirmation bias and statistics, which is covered in his book the black swan. Maybe it doesn't fit that well here but he gives reason why listening to analysts and trying to predict the market can be very harmful. The interview is also very long(1 1/2h).
  23. dctrader is offline Last Activity: 02-15-2007 06:00 PM try PM or email(if possible).
  24. Minetoo: Thanks for the advice, i know i still got a lot to learn, hope it's not too late yet. Trading in the USD crosses is getting choppier now, it was easy to be a genius for a couple of weeks.
