Where 2 Put the Dll Library in TS ?

Recommended Posts

Hello

I have an *.ela file + a *.dll

It was written in 1998 with TS 4

Importing + compiling in TS 8.6 = OK

I've put the dll in TS/Program dir

But I have this message

attachment.php?attachmentid=20269&stc=1&d=1269367517

Any idea Where 2 put the dll Library ?

May Be it's not compatible with 8.6 ?

I've tried with MC

Importing + Compiling = OK

I've put the dll in the MC Dir

Also in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\TS Support\MultiCharts\StudyServer\Studies\Dlls

Functions + Indic + Strategie

No more success...

For MC I have DLLs working in "\Program Files\TS Support\MultiCharts" for sure. Don't know about TS.

Edit: this is MC 6.0 beta 2 but also worked in the Ver. 5.

Hello

No more success...

Isn't TS4 a 16bit application? TS4 can run under WinXP, but it is unlikely that TS8, a 32bit only application can read a 16 bit dll written for TS4.

see if you can find a line similar to this in your indicator:

**************************************************

DefineDLLFunc: "C:\matrice\matricecafnar.DLL", void, "DLLWRITEINSTRU", LPSTR,int, LPSTR, float,float,float,float,float,int,int,int,int,int,int ;

DLLWRITEINSTRU(symbolname, barinterval, "xxxx", o, h, l, c , c , Volume, 15, 14,26,01,09 );

TS doesn't read DLL

You will have to open the .asc files or study file and find the line that calls the DLL and see the location

This is silly. It is like saying TS doesn't read or write any files because it has to call Windows API to process the request.

A 32-bit compiled program or code called from a 32-bit program cannot make direct 16-bit API or DLL calls. The most common error you will get is dll "file not found" .

If the OP acquired the software legally and the vendor is still supporting the software, the OP should ask the vendor for a 32bit dll.

3Monkeys showed me the right way

I've found this info on an other forum

Important notice:

Due to limitation size of the current 16 bits TradeStation 4 version, this optional change will be made as soon as TradeStation 5 will be released.

This version (16 bits) will not run on TradeStation 32 bits.

Any idea Where 2 put the dll Library ?

May Be it's not compatible with 8.6 ?

That's what I thought... it's not compatible

So I need 2 find the 32 bits dll

ThanX 2 all 4 your quick help

PS How 2 see (with an hexa editor) if a dll is 16 or 32 bits ?

Windows Version 3.0 (PMODE ONLY!) =16 bits ?

WIN87EM =16 bits ?
