It's weird you mention this one.... as I have just recently developed a thing for this car. I now have various pictures of this car as my background image on my desktop.

It seems like an awesome machine.... I don't know about that newer transmission in them though.

I just love the lines on this thing.

Looks like the put the steering wheel on the wrong side... minor defect though ;)

In my opinion as far as it comes to cars it doesnt get better than the new 2010 Porsche 997 Turbo (gen2). I drove one 3 months ago and it was by far the most terrifying experience I have had! The car is a BEAST!

wallpaper_2_1_2_1_1024_768.jpg

I have driven the gen1 997 Turbo for about 5000-10.000kms and it is a VERY fast car, but the gen2 with all the engine kits etc etc it was just a different thing, especially with the new 7 speed PDK gearbox. I have never driven anything as responsive as that, not GT3's, Lambo's or even the McLaren SLR, the Turbo is in a class of its own. That and the fact that you can drive it all year around makes it the "best" car in the world. Ok I wouldnt mind a Ferrari 599 or a Lambo LP670 or something but that's a different league, and the useability of those cars is uncompareable to a Turbo.

I do however also like the new 997 Sport Classic, so its a tough choice which one id choose, most likely id go for the Sport Classic since its gonna become a collectable.

Another fantastic car and which gives you alot for your money is the Maserati Gran Turismo, however ONLY in GT S mode, buying the "cheaper" version of this car is just rubbish, its just too slow, as soon as the snow is gone here in Sweden where I live im gonna book that car into a test drive, just need to get it out of my system, I think its SUCH good value for money, surely it cant be that good... or?

...Porshe makes some amazing cars but they hurt their brand by trying to sell cheap versions of their really nice stuff. They need to decide if they want to be a boutique brand or a luxury brand with the likes of BWM, Lexus, and Audi. I saw a Porshe GT2 yesterday downtown and the engine sounded amazing. That car's sticker is $180,000. See pic below.

attachment.php?attachmentid=17857&stc=1&d=1263594905

The Porshe Carerra is only $80,000 - see pic below

attachment.php?attachmentid=17858&stc=1&d=1263594905

Most average people can't tell the difference. IMO, when you spend $200k for a car, you don't want people thinking you only spent $80k on it. Those are in 2 different leagues.

The 911 turbo. I love this car so much. Everything about is perfection. But, it's $150k. Don't get me wrong, I think it's worth it, but the problem I have is with Porsche's cannibalistic lower-level models. Call me ostentatious, but if I spent $150k on a car, I would want people to know that this car is rare, awesome, and mine. But to the untrained eye, let's face it, there's not much difference between a 911 turbo and a snail spec Boxter. That's good for Boxter owners who want the prestige of owning a Porsche, but not so good for 911 turbo owners.

I know I know, who cares what everyone thinks right? Well if I spend $150k on a car, I do.

Jon, not sure if you read my prior post but it appears we think alike. :)

I have read your post and we DO think alike, the funny thing is if you place a red Boxster next to a grey Turbo, the girl you are with are gonna point at the Boxster and say its nicer, but then again, put her in the Turbo and put the pedal to the floor and even she is gonna be able to tell the difference (im speaking from experience ;) )

I love all Porsches and the Boxsters and Caymans handle SO nicely and are great drivers but just sitting in a turbo feeling the finish on things is just so different from a standard 997...

I'm glad to see more Porsches in here :)

I drove a Cayman (base w/ manual) a few years ago and it was the most enjoyable driving experience I've ever had.

The new GT3s are unbelievable. 3.8L 435bhp and 0-60 in 4 seconds. Not bad for N/A

Since you brought up the R8 Audis, have you paid any attention to the newer ones with the V10s? Sex on wheels man.

Pretty cool shoot out between the ZR1s' Supercharged V-Eazy and the newer R8 with the V-Teezy.

Ha that was great, I love Top Gear. That joke about the German trip computer cracked me up.

Seriously, the Audi has to be one of the more gorgeous cars ever built. I mean right?

I can understand Clarkson's point IF I lived in England. There the corvette would be this terrible monstrosity that would scare the hell out of everyone, which would be great. In America though those monstrosities are around every corner.

I'll take the Audi any day,

Cool thread...

In addition to trading, I also manage a paper route. As such, I needed something to meet the challenge of timely news delivery while still being able to trade in the mornings.

So here is me on my daily delivery route: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnOh6WY4FbY&hl]...[/ame].

Now my customers really enjoyed being some of the first folks to recieve their papers but as you can see, some of them lived a fair distance away and I was occasionally missing the opening bell so I upgraded: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYEtQGLzvkI]...[/ame].

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xayE_0Pl-ug]...[/ame]

Unfortunately, now my cutomers are less than pleased with the noise produced by my new delivery vehicle, but I am happy to report that I am back at my trading station ready for the day - long before the opening bell rings... :D

P.S. Nothing but RESPECT for Andy Green... Guy is a lunatic!

The Danish made Zenvo!

More than 1,100 bhp, powered with a vette motor equipped with a both a turbo AND supercharger. If this doesn't get top billing for exotic and over the top, what does?

If you are into the M3 - the last generation (E46) will give you great bang for your buck -- especially if you are not afraid to get your hands dirty under the hood.

...love this car

I love it too, but the sub-frame issues scare me. I had a friend driving through Dallas in his E46 and hit a pot hole - ruined the sub-frame.

You can pick up a 996 Carrera for cheap now, which would probably be my route.

Bingo... was sooooo close to going the E46 route but the subframe issues scared me not to mention it seemed like there were TONS of normal maintenance things you had to do... RTAB bushings, shims, etc.

I second the 996 vote. Only thing you have to watch out for is RMS leaks, which are easy to spot ahead of purchase and if the clutch has been replaced most likely it won't be an issue anyway. Other than that the entire car is practically bomb proof.

Seems like the best bang for the buck. Personally I just can't get over the front bumpers on the 99-01 C2/C4's... I'd have to up the ante to a C4S or Turbo... Normal mileage turbos can be had for under 40k.... Thats a 100-120k discount off sticker folks... and it is a true supercar. Don't know of much that can touch its performance potential out of the box for less money.

    • Question: To those that had/have cancer, what were the signs that made you think “something is not right here” to make you go see a doctor? Answer: So, 5/25/2018, I woke up, got ready for work, and as I walked to my car, I started gagging. Like something was stuck in my throat and I needed to clear it. And then it went away.   But 10 minutes after that, I was T-boned at 40mph on the driver side door. But what made me see a doctor was while my muscles felt better and bruises were going away, the gagging still continued, I started having fevers, my neck felt swollen, I was having such a hard time breathing, and I'd have random sharp pains in my chest, but not from where the seat belt saved me.   2 weeks after the accident, I finally see an urgent care doctor, who looks me over, tells me I'm fine, but luckily requests a neck X-ray. And I ask for a chest X-ray, which he rolls his eyes but let me have (most of my pain was in the neck, so I understand).   The very next day, he calls and says “So, that chest X-ray shows there's a 4 inch mass on your heart and lungs, and your lungs have been filling up with fluid, as well as in your pericardial (heart) wall. We need you to come in tomorrow.”   Turns out the big mass, due to the accident, caused my heart and lungs to tear and fill with fluid, the swollen neck and gagging was caused by 2 metastasized tumors, and the fevers and weight loss were symptoms. Stage 4b Hodgkin's Lymphoma.   But thankfully, we went very aggressive with chemo (and had a lot of bad side effects that don't normally happen to patients), and now I'm about 16 months cancer-free. Yay lucky X-rays! • As a man, the reality of life is the harshest part. I don’t mind looking older or becoming weaker over time; it’s nature.   Have you ever heard that the only people who will be loved unconditionally are women and children? Men will only be loved as long as they can provide until they are no longer needed. It doesn’t matter if you already did your best to get your kids to the best school or get the best things for them, if you stop before they’re done with it, there will be no thank you. The only thing they will remember is that they have to quit school at 15, ignoring all the previous 15 years of life you provided for them. The only people who will accept you, no matter what, are your parents. But in this situation, you might be that ungrateful child.   EDIT: Wow, I didn’t think this would get so much attention.   For those who disagree, I can only say that everyone has their problem. If you don’t get the chance to face such a thing, be grateful. Remember, sometimes what you throw in the garbage is something that someone wishes ever to have.” – ElZee, Quora   Profits from free accurate cryptos signals: https://www.predictmag.com/
