Text and Line

Recommended Posts

Hello,

is-it possible to program a line during x bar (Tradestation) when for example I have this condition (and write the value) :

C> average and o< average

plot a line during 5 candlesticks at the same value = (H+L)/2 (or medianprice)

and write the value, in EOD and intraday (TL_NEW...)

Thank you for all

Bests regards Franck

Hello

Thank you Tams for your help.

Easylanguage (TS 8) :

If T02>=2 and condition1 = true then begin

OldKeyID = ID;

OldkeyIDtext = TEXTID;

ID = TL_New(Date[0], Time[0], p01, Date, Time, p01);

TEXTID=Text_New(Date, lastcalctime,p01+2,"P="+ NumToStr(p01,2));

Value1 = TL_SetExtRight(ID, True);

Value2 = TL_SetColor(ID,blue);

Value3 = TL_SetSize(ID, 1);

Value4 = Text_SetColor(textID, Red);

Value5 = TEXT_setSTYLE(textID,1,2);

If OldKeyID <> -1 and OldkeyIDtext<>-1 Then

Value1 = TL_Delete(OldKeyID);

{TEXTID = Text_Delete(OldkeyIDtext);}

End;

The problem is :

If I write {TEXTID = Text_Delete(OldkeyIDtext);} everything is delete. My goal is to have lines + text and delete old text and lines from the chart as new conditions are found

Thank you for all

Franck

I am glad you reported on this problem because I discovered the same "undocumented" issue in TS 8.5. What I have discovered is that you cannot draw TrendLines and Text within the same block of code, e.g., an -if-then-else block of code. Your solution of writing two programs is the only way to do it (as far as I know).

You can put text and trendlines in the same block of code...

There must be a conflict in your logic to cause the problem.

Keep things simple... use 2 indicators is a good solution.
