  1. As you said : "Hand drawn S/R is more efficient". I should have more self-confidence in my price action analysis. With VWAP or PP I just want to verify my supposition and find high propability S/R.
  2. Hi Swan, How long have you been trading ? It would be interesting to have a description of your "trading career path" Regards, Steven
  3. SmartPhone can be useful to keep informed but not to trade. Except if you lose your connection and you want to close it in urgency.
  4. I would like to use it for 5 min - 15 mins trades. Like PP VWAP allows you to find S/R.
  5. Good evening, For day trading, is VWAP better than Pivot Points ? What is your point of view ? Regards, Steven
  6. If you look to your last trade : Day 4-5 : Big M - BIG W Day 18 : Big M Day 19 : BIG M Day 23 : BIG W Just with this simple chart pattern you could win lot more
  7. First I would like to thank you for your daily trading report. I am following it since you started and it really interesting ! When you went short, you can see on the chart a Big M pattern. And thanks to this chart pattern you could easily place your target : Identifying chart pattern is really useful to place your target. Waiting for Day 25, Regards, Steven
  8. Hi BlueWolf, You should take a look to the e-learning Workshop from Robert Miner : here In his WS you will start to learn some techniques to analyse price, how to use indicator, how define a trading plan, how to enter and exit a trade, etc.... I have personally watched the WS and it was really helpful for starting ! If you want to learn more about price action/reaction you should use Technical Analysis. The following books are good : Technical Analysis of Stock Trends Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns Technical Analysis Explained : The Successful Investor's Guide to Spotting Investment Trends and Turning Points Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets: A Comprehensive Guide to Trading Methods and Applications Regarding a good software : Ninja Trader is good. It's free until you go live ! You have simulator, you can replay market data and have free quotes from Yahoo. Good luck
  9. Forget about indicators and learn first price action/reaction. This is the most important ! Do not forget to define a clear Trading Plan for 2010. You should have a look to those threads : http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f37/what-made-you-profitable-622.html http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f30/define-your-trading-plan-7312.html Happy new trade , Steven
  10. I totally agree with you. In fact, I am trading stocks for a couple of month and I would like to trade Futures or FX on my free time. But I do not know which broker (stock + Fut OR stocks + FX) & data feeder is the more reliable with NT
  11. Good morning, I am new to NT and I do not now which broker is the best for trading Stock, Futures & FX with automated System. I have read that IB is not really good for Data Feed and Historical Data Mirus & AMP Futures does not allow you to trade stocks Has MB Trading a good Data Feed & Historical Data ? Thank you for your advice, Steven
  12. Actually if I can trade futures and equities with the same software it's better. I was using a French trading software : http://www.waldata.com but this software is not mature enought for the moment. Regards, Steven
  13. A solution is to use a IB API : http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/software/apiReleaseNotes/api9.php?ib_entity=llc
  14. Are you not facing problems for backtesting ? Because IB has only 24 historical data. You probably import data but from where ? Thks
  15. Good morning, I have looked to the MC User Guide and it's written that you have only 24h historical data with IB. Which is not useful for backtesting strategies... So I need your advice to choose a good broker for automated trading with MultiCharts.(I am Trading on EU Market, sorry I'm swiss :p) Thank you, Steven

  17. I have tried Trade The News - Live Audio Breaking Market News Analysis and Futures Calls and it is really really good and not so expensive : 50$/month for highlights
