  1. I like it when people call me out by name. I like it when people call me out by name but have never really read any of my posts, because it shows their ignorance: they don't know where I stand, and they make assumptions. They make an ass out of themselves.

Nice work johnnydaymon! Thanks for sharing.
  3. I have this strange feeling... some one is attempting to have a conversation with me.
  4. certain vendor cannot even interpret the information he garnered from his own software, let alone using it to trade, and to trade profitably. Reading his posts is like reading an astrologist's predictions; full of non-committal double talks. Forget about a 3 months challenge, if he can post a one week record, I would say he is on the good side. But I doubt that would happen. Not from my read of his thread, there is no way in hell he can make money with his kind of wishy-washy analysis. He is more a shoot from the hip discretionary trader than an analytical trader. He might have a software, but most of his chain-of-thought do not utilize those information. If he could see the order flow as he claimed, he wouldn't be as scared most of the time, and he wouldn't be as non-committal when an opportunity presents itself.
  5. if you are outside of hk, the only convenient place you can trade hsi is through interactivebrokers. the hke subscription is cheap... i think it is US$15 or something like that. there is no contract, and you can sign up and sign off anytime.
  6. if you can make money with ONE contract, you can make money. Lotsa mooney. if a teacher brags to you with $$$$ profits from multiple contracts, I would stay away from him immediately. drop him like a hot potato because he has a bigger ego than brain. what easy money the market gives, the market will take back his interest is not in teaching you how to trade properly, but to entice you with quick profits. noobs love quick profits. his interest is in your tuition fees. he didn't tell you, he will make more money from teaching than from trading.
  7. he's the broker, you are the brokee. (or simply... broke).

  9. don't know... this code is for InteractiveBrokers.
  10. percentage return of your capital is one way to measure your success. but it does not tell the whole story about your trading, nor its long term survivability. as a beginner, if you make as much money as your broker, you are doing well. ps. we are talking about trading, not investing. I just want to be clear on this.
  11. Why gaps? are you trading? investing? or gambling?
  12. gun ownership gives a fuzzy warm feeling to certain people... because they naively believe that just because they have the gun, they can have peace. gun ownership gives a fuzzy warm feeling to certain people... because they know that with the gun, they can violate you. And they can do that before you can react. (eg. Sandy hook, NY firemen) gun ownership gives a fuzzy warm feeling to certain people... because they naively believe that it is their right (under god, constit, or watever). they believe they must have guns, everything else does not matter. Righteousness trumps everything. You death is only an accidental inconvenience of a just cause.
  13. Pretty well anything you can imagine, can be done. All it takes is a little time to lay out the logic, write the code, and test it. (or hire someone to do it)
  14. 15-Year-Old Girl Shot And Killed In Kenwood Neighborhood Park « CBS Chicago A teenage girl–an honor student who had just performed at President Obama’s inaugural–was gunned down Tuesday afternoon in the Kenwood neighborhood, just blocks from the high school she attended. CBS 2’s Mike Parker reports the victim, 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton, was taking shelter from the rain with a group of 10 to 12 teenagers under a canopy in Vivian Gordon Harsh Park on the 4500 block of South Oakenwald Avenue around 2:30 p.m., when someone jumped a fence, ran up to them, and opened fire.
  15. watch the TV news until the end... the reporter says the police is looking for the guy who did this, he could face charges of armed burglary. LOL
  16. Interactivebroker is good as a broker, but not suitable as a data provider for what you are doing. like zdo recommends, tradestation is a good candidate because of the all around broker/datafeed/software combination. there are better brokers, there are better datafeeds, there are better software, but there are no better combination for a small retail trader to do what you have in mind.
