  1. Which part of my post you do not understand?
  2. Defending yourself with a registered gun by a responsible gun owner (as described in the video) is something nobody ever denied. You are confused. You are confusing the right to self-defense with the freedom to own (and distribute) high capacity automatic assault rifles.
  3. I am not anti-gun. I was trained in using guns, I have no problem with guns, or gun ownership. The farmers need their guns. The hunters can use their guns. The sports shooters can have their guns; they use their guns in the Olympics. The collectors want to admire their guns. They can have their guns. What I failed to see is, why do you want to widely distribute high capacity automatic assault rifles. Please do not tell me you need the guns to protect yourself against a tyrannic government. The government is already tyrannic, it robs the poor and gives to the rich. I do not see you (or anybody) do anything about it. Please do not tell me you need the guns to protect yourself against a 280 lb monkey. The only reason there is a fully armed 280 lb monkey is because guns are widely distributed. Please do not tell me you must have the guns because of the 2nd amendment. That was 1791, more than 200 years ago. Time has changed. The land has changed. You will have your guns; despite all these debates, I do not see USA will change its laws drastically to curtail your liberty of gun ownership in the near future (ie the next 200 yrs). You will continue to have your freedom to own guns, but many people will tell you, you have given up a lot of "other" freedoms just so that you (and all the bad people) can have the freedom to own guns. Good luck... hope peace be with you always.
  4. You've got that right, USA is becoming a third world country... when I traveled to China, I arrived at the Shanghai airport and was amazed by the size, cleanliness, modern facilities, courteous services, and SIZE! Did I say size twice? You don't believe me? try youtube and you will find lots of video of the place. I took a ride on their high speed trains; I wondered, this is more like an airplane than a train -- over 300 km/hr. Whatever happened to the USA's dream trains. I was in Japan, ditto, a very modern metropolis, with people walking on the streets at night, enjoying a laughter with friends and family . Not a single person needs to worry about someone's hicap automatic assault rifle. There are tons more stories I can tell you... later...

  6. Changing tack... Sounds like you are admitting defeat.
  7. I have lived in The Philippines (Subic Bay), and have traveled extensively in the country; please do not make remote comments on things you do not have an intimate knowledge of. Anybody trying to justify automatic hicap assault rifle ownership in USA by making comparison to the situation in The Philippines, has really ran out of legitimate excuses. You might as well make a comparison to Congo in Africa.
  8. I have been waiting for you to post this piece of s. You are so predictable. READ THIS: snopes.com: Australian Guns Stats
  9. I was never an American citizen, but I have traveled and lived in the States. I have participated in joint exercises with the American military and the NATO forces. I understand guns and the gun culture.
  10. I don't think you have read my responses. You have mistaken my stance. I was in the military; I was trained in using guns. I have fired more rounds than you will ever in your life time. I was a marksman, I know all about guns, and how to use them, including using them as self defense machines and killing machines. I am not in the military now, therefore I have no use for guns. When I was in the military, my job was to make my country a safe and democratic place to live. If the citizens of my country need guns to protect themselves, then I have failed. No amount of personal guns can bring the peace back. Only the constitution can. I wish you could come to my neighborhood and see; I can go jogging at night without having to worry about being shot at, because nobody has any guns. I can walk to the corner store anytime without having to worry that someone might be aiming a barrel at me. Strangers say hello to me on the street. Kids do not write graffiti on the walls. If I have a flat tire, someone will stop their cars and come to assist, without having me to flag anyone down. It is a safe place to be, and that's how every neighborhood should be. Life is about enjoying the peace, not feeling paranoid about the tyrannic government or the 280 lb monkey that never existed. Life is about living the peace, it is easier to do when you know that the imaginary 280 lb monkey has no access to the same automatic assault rifle that you believe everybody should have access to. You might believe that one day I would wish I had a gun. No, I don't, I don't want one, and most importantly, I don't need one. And that tells a big difference between the World you live in and the World I live in. I shall remain in mine, and I have no intention (or need) to win you over.
  11. see... your stand has nothing to do with guns, or violence, or 2nd ammendment, or self defense, or 280 lb monkey, or freedom from tyrannic government. you just don't like liberals, and i am not sure if you understand whatever liberalism means or represents.
  12. THere you go.... sex and guns
  13. The only way to get tighter gun control in USA is through a referandum; no politician has enough persuasion to bring about a change. There will be more shootings, and there will be more talks of tighter gun control, the law will come only when one of the powerful politician's loved one is shot, then he will introduce the referandum. Until then, have a safe and happy new year.
  14. The China transition that is currently happening (been happening for the past 20+ yrs) -- from a brutal tyrannic communiist state to a free enterprise state, is a bloodless coup.
  15. EL is a very limited language, even with the constant additions to the keywords, there are more thing it cannot do than it can. EL was specifically designed as a layman's language -- for the non-programmer traders to concoct their own quick and dirty analysis. EL had its roots in Pascal (a beginner's language), thank g-d it wasn't based on BASIC, at least you get some structure in the codes instead of spagetti. EL was never designed as a serious programming language, in the sense that it was not designed to be used to program a large and all comprehensive autotrade strategy. The structure is simplistic, the analysis is bar-by-bar, and there are little provision for modular blocks (except for the functions) -- a prerequisite for large codes. If you want to find faults (or handicaps, or limitations), you will find plenty in EL. If you want to find an easier language for traders, I doubt you will find anything easier than EL.
  16. you forgooten what you have written in the 1st post... and you have selective reading of my post... Finally, my simple advice: if you have to ask, you are not ready for it.
  17. I have tried it. The user interface is 99% identical to the EL version. Unless you have a need to do something that EL cannot do, there is no point in switching. Besides, if you don't already know C#, it makes no sense in switching, because it will take time to learn a new language, and it will be years before you are proficient enough to code something that would kick assk.

  20. I was in the military; I was trained in handling rifles, submachine guns, and handguns. I was a marksman in my unit; I could score a bullseye in 300 yds with ease. I could disassemble, clean, and reassemble any of the above guns in the dark. I was trained to do that. I have no guns at home (or any places that I associate with), nor do I need any. I have not fired a single round since I left the military more than 30 years ago.

  22. some posts deserve a reply................
  23. please do not rehash this. it has been discussed many times. this is totally out of context, both in political background and the issue at hand. by citing this quote, you are not scoring any brownie point, you are not displaying your intelligence, you are not demonstrating any rational argument. the gun debate needs objective thinking on both sides, and you are not making contribution to the pro-lobby by posting this quote.
  24. nobody hates a vendor for being a vendor. there are vendors who sell value, and there are vendors who scam. there are vendors who come right out and explain what they offer for sale, there are vendors who pretends to be a friend, but only to ask for money later. there are vendors who say they have nothing to sell, there are vendors who pretend to offer a discussion, but only to lead to a product and or pay service. some vendors don't just sell, they offer help. free help on an anonymous forum, genuine help that asks nothing in return, not even a thanks. nobody hates a vendor for being a vendor. but nobody likes to be taken for a ride either. I have no knowledge or experience with this vendor, we should all give him a chance to explain himself. good luck.
