Any P90x'ers on Board?

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the review. What type of "stuff" is needed?

I will try to recall from memory what I bought...

# Resistance Bands (could also use dumbbells if you have them already)

# Yoga Mat and Block

# Heart Rate Monitor

# Pull Up Bar (found one that goes in a doorway)

# Push Up Bars

# Quality Shoes (I love New Balance)

Here is what the p90x site sells. The only thing I purchased from the directly was the resistance bands. Everything else came from a local sports store.

For those on a tight budget, you could skip the yoga mat/block (just do the yoga day on your floor) and heart rate monitor (only use it 1 day and it's to make sure you are working out in the right zone - well, if you are sweating your butt off, you are good to go).

They also sell plenty of supplements with this program as well. I did not purchase any of those. They talk a lot about the recovery drink and on their forums they said you could take a sports drink (powerade, gatorade) add in some protein and that's good enough. So that's what I do.

Just to mention... I switched over to Insanity after doing two rounds of P90X. Holy crap. Its like Plyo X on crack each day. Just finished my first 4 weeks and am on my recovery week before the workouts ramp up for the next 4. If you think you're in shape (cardio wise) doing P90 I think you'll be surprised what a massive reality check the Insanity program is.

Cheers!

I agree - for cardio you can't beat Insanity.
