This trade is thus far doing better for me than my Eagles had managed against the Packers ...

Interesting tight stop setup for a large potential reward vs. risk

Are you targeting the 144444 area or going for a smaller swing?

We have a 28 tick stop loss and with no plan for tightening it until we get +200, which puts price below Friday's 1.4839 low. After that we will trail, and we would like to see a retest of the 1.4398 low, which would put us at about +650 ticks.

Time will tell ...

Best Wishes,

Thales

Time to get rolling again...it'll probably take me a little while to get back into the swing of things...

Anyways...to begin...potential long on the UJ...

Ended up taking a short, instead...moved my stop tight...got taken out for a small loss...

Re-entered on the new low...trailed my stop tight...managed to more than make up for the previous trade's loss (albeit not by much).

Although it would appear by this Ninja chart that PT2 filled, it did not with FXCM...both halves were actually taken out at PT1. (Once price hit PT2 on the Ninja chart, I moved my stop with FXCM to PT1.)

Potential EJ long...

I probably should have passed on this trade considering the lack of impulsiveness...I was probably reaching a bit...

I have to leave now and I just pulled it for a small loss. I may make a rule for myself when I have to leave early that I can't open any new trades the hour before I know I have to leave...so that I have that hour to manage any open trades I may have. We'll see.

No Tokyo for me tonight...I'll be back for NY tomorrow...

Short GBPCHF ...

We were stopped out on the first go around, and since my daughter is home from school today, we've re-entered short at a level 40 ticks above last night's entry, and we will add at 1.5045 ...

Hi Folks,

Just a reminder that tday is the last day to get your guess in for the quarterly guess the close contest - you can post your entry here:

http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f2/round-two-predict-market-close-contest-9050.html

Remember, it doesn't cost you anything to play, and I can attest to the fact that Mad Market Scientist and TL does indeed pay out on the prizes. First prize is a $250 Amazon.com gift card - surely there is a trading book you've been thinking of buying but you don't want to waste your own money on what may turn out to be another iece of garbage - well, here's your chance to have TL buy it for you. Or perhaps there is some game, gadget, or gizmo you've been wanting to try. $250 will more than buy you a Kindle, and it is almost halfway to to an iPad. So get those entries in, folks!

Best Wishes,

Thales

Currently short the EU...

Got PT1 on the first half, got stopped for a small profit on the second.

I'm frustrated that I missed this UJ long I've attached...I actually had an order in but canceled it solely because I was already in a trade (the EU short). I need to come up with a rule for what to do in situations when I have more than one opportunity...this time I just thought, I don't know what to do! I guess I'll just pass on it!

Orders canceled...no trades tonight...

I actually changed my mind at the last second before I shut down and put on the UJ short...but took BE on it...

I left it overnight and got on this morning at around 6AM Eastern Time to see that price had reached my BE point and retraced...I immediately moved my stop to BE and was taken out shortly after...

I got to it just in time! Lucky me. Actually, price had already risen above my entry when I got on, but had fallen just back below...just for enough time to let me move my stop before resuming its climb. :)

No NY today...I'll be back this evening...

And it is its first time over the 17,000 level. A 7% pop from Nvidia supported. Fed Kashkari said he wants to see “many more months” of positive inflation data before a rate cut. German GfK consumer confidence improves further. All signs are that consumption trends should improve with the rise in real-disposable income as falling inflation, rising wages and the prospect of rate cuts boost sentiment. Asian & European Open: European & US stocks slipped earlier today against a backdrop of rising government bond yields. DAX fell 0.2% and FTSE lost 0.06%. Traders are pricing in that the ECB will lower its deposit rate when policymakers meet next week. Asia stock market dipped as Chinese tech and property companies declined. The Hang Seng Tech index shed 2.3%. Financial Markets Performance: The USDIndex is steady and Treasury yields also held firm ahead of key inflation data, which could offer more clarity on the Fed rate trajectory. The USDJPY fell to 156.88 nearing levels that prompted suspected interventions by Tokyo in late April and early May. Currently rebounded again above 157. Japanese officials might issue verbal warnings again, but without tangible action, the USDJPY could march towards late April levels The EURUSD dipped to 1.0830 but still marked its first monthly gain in 2024. Meanwhile, the GBPUSD was last at 1.2760. Gold steadied at $2350 per ounce as markets wait for key US PCE numbers at the end of the week. Bullion hit a record high early last week, only to post the sharpest weekly correction this year as the Fed reiterated the “high-for-longer” message. Oil broke the $80 barrier as Middle East tensions have picked up again. Markets are now looking ahead to the release of key US inflation data and the OPEC+ meeting on June 2.
