How Important Are Economical Reports?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone here trade economical numbers? I tend to receive two different opinions. Some traders choose to stand aside before the release of economical numbers while others will trade it.

What are your thoughts on this? Is it possible to obtain any information on how to trade these numbers? Thanks

Totally useless. Knee-jerk reaction in the after the release and the market will contiune its original trend (at least for the bonds). Counter reaction in the direction of the major auction against a resistance is usually pretty safe except non-farm.

I personally never trade the news. I just trade the market reaction to it. When trading index futures, the markets overreacts to the news and the moves can be fast and furious.

Good to stay away from it or try to enter after the reaction.
