Listening to Music While Trading

Recommended Posts

Hope its appropriate to post this here..

I was doing my part and checking some of the Folks that support TL and came across this Web ssite. Its s a cool web site.

Although I have never used nor plan on using them or similar services. Non the less very nice site and more importantly the music as the page is loading has a very cool beat And thats what prompted me to post this thread, I listen to music while I trade and I can definitly trade whith that beat.

Types of music I prefer

Anything that raises my energy, however there are types of music that assist me to focus zone in sorta speak and those are my favorit to listen to while trading.

Im trying to figure out the name of this Group or Artist or CD name. Any one out there know them???

Classic Rock works best for me. They sing about the 'tough times back on the River" and about "being a cowboy", haha, which puts me in the mood to relax and focus on the markets.

I like to stick to calm and relaxing music with a light tempo to keep me away, but not too fast to get me anxious.

Also, stay clear of cafeine if you have a hard time focusing, and stick to doing routine excercizes that will condition your focus.

For a list of excercizes I do, you can PM me :)

Hope it helps, Mav

Just about any music will do for me--I don't find that I have better results while listening to certain genres of music (though honestly I haven't done any testing in this area to correlate music to profit). However, I mostly listen to various styles of metal, such as Carcass, Megadeth, Overkill, Evergrey, Cacophony, etc, because that is typically my favorite genre.

Great thread,

That electric classical guitar piece in that video above is incredible.

I haven't posted here much, but this kind of conversation gets me going.

You guys probably all know about this, but there is a site called pandora.com where you can design your own "stations" based on certain types of music. They can get repetitous at times but you can keep changing it up. I keep my thing going with Tuck and Patti, Leo Kottke, Ben Harper, Blind boys of Alabama, Led Zep, Hendrix, etc, though that higher octane stuff can be distracting to me at crucial times, I need to reach over and turn it down, (I have it going on a machine next to me). Also a radio station I like is http://www.kumd.org. A good mix there.

I also have my own guitar hanging here that I can grab when I need to step back for a minute.

...speaking of Hendrix, here's a version of Little Wing done by my favorite guitarist:

Or how 'bout a Santana classic:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtljYur4_T8&feature=related]YouTube - Tuck Andress Europa[/ame]

Doesn't get much better than that.

I know this is all "off topic", but ya gotta have something to keep you going.

Thanks,

John H

I just ran this through Tunatic and it returned "Holding On" from Ferry Corsten feat. Shelley Harland. And then searched this on YouTube and found a 8min version of it: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FqWzJsM_2I]YouTube - Ferry Corsten - Holding On[/ame]

One thing I had to do was stop listening to talk radio. It has been my fav for years. I usually listen to that in my car and at home.......

But I think when I listen to and think about politicians it subconciously pisses me off.

So I've been off of it for about a month and I think it has done me some good. I usually use Itunes and listen to either ambient music( Groove Salad), or something classical.

I havent' tried to see what hip hop will do for me yet?

This is a cool "old" thread.

I listen to music in loop, it helps me to go in the flow (the point where only what you focus on exists). Electronic music works nice for that. Things like Moby or Schiller.

I listen a lot to Moby it's raining again, when the market is bearish :)

(The post wasn't about music you listen while successully trading right?)

If I'm listening to music while trading, it is usually along the lines of Priest, Maiden, Metallica, AC/DC, GnR, Offspring, Social Distortion ... keeps me calm ...

    • Question: To those that had/have cancer, what were the signs that made you think “something is not right here” to make you go see a doctor? Answer: So, 5/25/2018, I woke up, got ready for work, and as I walked to my car, I started gagging. Like something was stuck in my throat and I needed to clear it. And then it went away.   But 10 minutes after that, I was T-boned at 40mph on the driver side door. But what made me see a doctor was while my muscles felt better and bruises were going away, the gagging still continued, I started having fevers, my neck felt swollen, I was having such a hard time breathing, and I'd have random sharp pains in my chest, but not from where the seat belt saved me.   2 weeks after the accident, I finally see an urgent care doctor, who looks me over, tells me I'm fine, but luckily requests a neck X-ray. And I ask for a chest X-ray, which he rolls his eyes but let me have (most of my pain was in the neck, so I understand).   The very next day, he calls and says “So, that chest X-ray shows there's a 4 inch mass on your heart and lungs, and your lungs have been filling up with fluid, as well as in your pericardial (heart) wall. We need you to come in tomorrow.”   Turns out the big mass, due to the accident, caused my heart and lungs to tear and fill with fluid, the swollen neck and gagging was caused by 2 metastasized tumors, and the fevers and weight loss were symptoms. Stage 4b Hodgkin's Lymphoma.   But thankfully, we went very aggressive with chemo (and had a lot of bad side effects that don't normally happen to patients), and now I'm about 16 months cancer-free. Yay lucky X-rays! • As a man, the reality of life is the harshest part. I don’t mind looking older or becoming weaker over time; it’s nature.   Have you ever heard that the only people who will be loved unconditionally are women and children? Men will only be loved as long as they can provide until they are no longer needed. It doesn’t matter if you already did your best to get your kids to the best school or get the best things for them, if you stop before they’re done with it, there will be no thank you. The only thing they will remember is that they have to quit school at 15, ignoring all the previous 15 years of life you provided for them. The only people who will accept you, no matter what, are your parents. But in this situation, you might be that ungrateful child.   EDIT: Wow, I didn’t think this would get so much attention.   For those who disagree, I can only say that everyone has their problem. If you don’t get the chance to face such a thing, be grateful. Remember, sometimes what you throw in the garbage is something that someone wishes ever to have.” – ElZee, Quora   Profits from free accurate cryptos signals: https://www.predictmag.com/
