To Anyone Using the Jigsaw Platform

Recommended Posts

First time poster, not sure if this belongs here. This one goes out to anyone who has used the Jigsaw Platform for Ninjatrader:

I recently purchased a SIM version of the Jigsaw Tools and had a couple of questions and issues for anyone out there that might be using it.

How exactly do you enable SIM trading on the Jigsaw Depth and Sales DOM? I for the life of me can't figure it out...

Secondly, is anyone out there using the platform facing performance issues with it? I recently re-built my entire rig, equipped it with an AMD FX-8350 running at a constant 4.0+ GHz and it's still running choppy. It also seems the platform might have a memory leak issue (or is that just NT). I have tried disabling search indexing as well as making sure that my antivirus program doesn't constantly scan every tick that is added to the NT DB. I've read over there that there may be an issue with the platform creating a bottleneck with the disk drive which can hinder performance. I am also a paid subscriber with Kinetick if that information is helpful, but rather doubt it has anything to do with the data end. These problems also occur with the various times and sales indicators as well. If anyone could provide me with information helping me resolve these issues I would be very greatful.

Check if the issue is not with Ninja. Not sure you can trade on a sim version, I think you need a trading allowed NT version.

I run the tools on my 4 year old 2 core, with internet browser and skype on without any IT issue.

But I don't trade on it, just watching the "game" at critical zones and put my orders through a different platform that can be opened besides.

Got the active trading issue resolved... it was as simple as making sure the active trading interface was switched on under the Files option in NT. As for performance issues I was using market replay data as a reference; during the morning hours the live performance was much better. It seems that replay data in general is slower not only from the fact that it has to pull it from your hard drive but also it seems almost as if the replay feed itself is slower than if you were getting live, unfiltered data. My GPU is over six years old which seems to be causing a slight bottleneck in the update interval. With a new one is on the way so I'm fairly confident my system should be able to perform well during high volatility situations.

Happy Trading

Happy to hear all up and running now. Are you already on the latest version of JS ?

There might be better options than market replay, with recording softwares, some of which have free versions.

    • Question: To those that had/have cancer, what were the signs that made you think “something is not right here” to make you go see a doctor? Answer: So, 5/25/2018, I woke up, got ready for work, and as I walked to my car, I started gagging. Like something was stuck in my throat and I needed to clear it. And then it went away.   But 10 minutes after that, I was T-boned at 40mph on the driver side door. But what made me see a doctor was while my muscles felt better and bruises were going away, the gagging still continued, I started having fevers, my neck felt swollen, I was having such a hard time breathing, and I'd have random sharp pains in my chest, but not from where the seat belt saved me.   2 weeks after the accident, I finally see an urgent care doctor, who looks me over, tells me I'm fine, but luckily requests a neck X-ray. And I ask for a chest X-ray, which he rolls his eyes but let me have (most of my pain was in the neck, so I understand).   The very next day, he calls and says “So, that chest X-ray shows there's a 4 inch mass on your heart and lungs, and your lungs have been filling up with fluid, as well as in your pericardial (heart) wall. We need you to come in tomorrow.”   Turns out the big mass, due to the accident, caused my heart and lungs to tear and fill with fluid, the swollen neck and gagging was caused by 2 metastasized tumors, and the fevers and weight loss were symptoms. Stage 4b Hodgkin's Lymphoma.   But thankfully, we went very aggressive with chemo (and had a lot of bad side effects that don't normally happen to patients), and now I'm about 16 months cancer-free. Yay lucky X-rays!
