  1. take a look at this site for a daily message that is informative and useful. http://www.innerworth.com/daily/iwDaily.asp Several years ago when I was laid off from the investment management area as a level II CFA stock analyst/portfolio administrator, and found it impossible to reenter, I knew that becoming a trader was what I truly wanted to do and no turning back. I just need the experience and I am not looking for any short cuts. I am working with scared money right now, but with faith and belief mixed with hard work and love of this way of life, making a living will happen. Risk finding out you can do it.
  2. Thanks Raul, your personal story is very inspirational. A breakout setup for the toolbox, and most importantly, is being able to breakout from all the warnings and lack of confidence.
  3. thanks ant, I wish you posted more often on the MP, I am a convert thanks to you with your sharing of the imported analysis techique for TS. Big Time thank you!
  4. just keep putting the shoulder down and plowing ahead, detached from outcomes, using these outcomes as knowledge stepping stones; wisdom takes effort and usually more than we want, inorder to be able to sign for the package containing the Holy Grail. Just keep biting the apple with some mojo or the nojo will get ya.
  5. it is same in the respect that it is a ticks chart showing the adv issues vs. the decl issues LIKE the nyse ticks chart. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes I know it is not an exchange, but about 6 months ago when I was very interested in the ER2, I began to watch the $RUT/TICK.I. I was using Sierra charts at the time and they did not a symbol for a ticks chart for the Russell, and I stumbled on a symbol at Scottrade. I am also watching the delta bars closely for enlightenment. At areas upon earlier bars that show large bids or asks over 400, I place a horizontal line to see if support or resistance may occur at these points. Just playing in the sandbox now with market delta.
  6. Russell 2000 tick just like the nyse tick. symbol at scottrade is $RUT/TICK.I
  7. I have watched the ER Ticks with a simple bar chart. using 1minute with 2hours data. Through observation of these bars I have noticed a couple of patterns that offer a heads up for a trade setup. I draw trendlines on the Ticks chart and when there appears a 3 point trendline, a good trade seems to follow. Also for possible reversals after these 3pt trendlines trades finish, is a 4th penetration of the 3 point trendline that gives me also a setup trade. I see this same 3 point trendline with cci and rsi as other confirmations. Tin, if you are trading the ER, why not use the ER Ticks instead of the Nasdaq Ticks? Actually I found that the ER Ticks can be used for the YM. I was always more interested in trading the ER from others, however, after learning that the YM is better to start with from John Carter's book, I changed course of my trading and began trading the YM. I intend to make mistakes and learn on a easier playing field first then head for the ER in the future.
  8. muy bien amigo. I am trying to get it recently.
  9. always an ally and sponge to your wisdom.
  10. I was using IB sierra charts and bracket trader for many months. All I needed was one nonfilled trade that lasted for over a minute that made me consider tradestation. Tradestation offers so much more that sierra charts with IB. Why pay for monthly subscription for sierra charts when tradestation is free with like 10 trades a month.
  11. I have my own method that was not taught to me but developed from months of observation. I begin to look for an entry after I see a three or four point trendline break with both the cci and rsi on the 3 and 5 minute charts. Not an absolute but I begin to salivate when they appear. Just look at historical charts and see for self when they appear.
  12. Kiwi, I am so glad you have joined this forum. I have read your posts for over a year at other sites and your shared comments have been very informative and useful. Thanks for your sharing. Namstrader
  13. excellent thanks again. I will be watching for your 90 lots to come on the tape real soon. Sincerely, Mark
  14. Soultrader, Could you possibily share how to set up the tape to show only the 10 or more lots? When I see the fast prints going by I seem to react impulsively and pull the trigger. Lots of fast 1 lots going by and I react when perhaps I need to learn better to read the tape. I sure wish my learning curve was further along! Your sword is sharp and time will do the same for me;following along, behind your path, I am learning so much. Thanks, Mark
  15. Soultrader, Thanks for your explanation of using the gap chart for MP. I am going to change my MP charts to the gap session and use the 24 hr. session with another chart not using MP, to be able to observe these prior areas of S/R. John Carter's book was very useful concerning the Gap trade, and with MP a even better understanding of value and price behavior seems possible now. Traders Laboratory is the place to be now for me and other forums offer so much less for my education. I am a pivot and Market Profile trader with market internals now. Using indicators only, gave me no reference points or a road map as to other timeframe buyers and seller involvement and where and when, and especially seeing targets now. I have always had tight stops and tight profits for the pennies and nickels based on fearful trading. When I can begin to trust, I will learn to hold for the gold because of understanding better where the professional levels are. Keep up the great work James namstrader
  16. Soultrader, I now understand why my VAL VAH POC pivots were different from yours. I had my Market Profile chart on the 24 hour session. I would truly appreciate your thoughts on using a gap chart, or only market hour session charts. Can pre-market sessions offer you some further insights that may indicate price areas that might be useful for a trader. Thanks, namstrader
  17. Thank you very much again. ant has the two values in there already, the false and 3000, so I went to the site you suggested and I will use that each day. Mark
  18. Hi Soultrader, I imported a Marketprofile exe.md from someone here at Traders Laboratory. I wish that I could see how you determine the value high and value low points because they are not what I see at all with the analysis technique that I imported. Thanks! Namstrader (mark)
  19. Soultrader, you had a great day yesterday, and took 4 short trades and had my worst day yet. It amazes me that I was so unaware of my foolishness with these countertrend trades. If I had done my homework and was more aware that just yesterday the low value area found no initiative selling and no followthrough, this would have told me buyers are now more confident to take prices back through value and watch for a strong TREND DAY. My focus was on a Gap fill on the short side. Some day Market Profile will be more ingrained and my visualization and understanding in my learning curve will survive my equity curve drawdown before I lose it all. I am learning so much from your ways Soultrader, since joining Traders Laboratory I have begun to learn new methods that I want to stay with, that are based upon floortraders pivots, market profile, and market delta. My trading weaknesses still prevail and I am having to burn to learn. Right now I have to remind myself that I am fulfilled in the process and not the outcomes, however, my positive expectancy and trust is being tested daily.
