  1. Hello Mario and thanks a lot for the indicator. For any reason i can put the MP indicator that you created in my expert MT4 folder but when i open a 30 min chart and try to drag the indicator to the chart, it does nothing. Also, in meta editor, it says the the sptlib, mqh cant be open and it gives an error when compiling the sp market profile indicator. Your help or the help of anybody would be greatly appreciated on that matter. Also, for a reliable MT4 platform for volume that do not use broker in house volume (volume we means tick data here) but volume from the data feed that they use which is connected to different banks is either IBFX, Broko trader or MBT MT4. Personally, i use the MBTrading MT4 platform as this broker is an ECN and use different banks in his datafeed which is more near what you can see in e-signal Thanks a lot in advance Shreem:)
  2. Hello VTK, the only broker coming to mine, which is mine since 2 years, is Oanda. They are great for any forex method that i use, either sclaping, swing or position trade and their spreads are very good and they dont try to mess with you. Of course, at news time, they increase their spreads for few min but that is standard practice with bucket shops. Im a very happy customer with them Hope it helps Shreem:)
  3. Hello Forsearch, thanks a lot for your answer. Very much appreciated. Is it standard practice on the globexto have these limited historical data or does it have more to do with some limitations on charting with Open E-Cry software? Again, thanks a lot for your fast reply Forsearch Have a great day Sincerely Shreem:)
  4. Hello all, I have a question about Open E-Cry charts. Where does volume come from? Is is only from the Open E-Cry itself or is it coming from the interbank market or from the centralize exchange? Reason I ask is that I may consider using volume informations from their charts for currency future instead of using proxy volume of forex spot broker who do not represent true volume at all. Put another way, is volume seeing on the Open E-Cry charts does represent true volume of numbers of shares or contracts traded from the true interbank market or is it just another proxy volume as we usually find in spot forex broker chart like MT4 and the like? Thanks a lot in advance for your answer as this important for me. Also, is there a possibility to get the VWAP indicator on Open E-Cry charts? Have a great trading next week to all Sincerely Shreem:) Edit: Is there a way on the chart to get more than 3 months of data? For 6EU8, on daily chart it only goes until may 08?

  8. I found this post on "Re: Support and Resistance" interesting and have nominated it accordingly for "Topic Of The Month July, 2008"
  9. Balancetrader of Frank Butera has a website comprising of video educational lessons on MP and stategies and application going with it along with a chat room where he discuss current setups and ideas. As I am a member of his course, I can say that his videos are great and a great learning experience for anyone interested in market profle. Also, reading both books by Dalton of Minds over Markerts and Markets in Profiles can help you a lot in your understanding of how market profile works Please remember that MP does not give you a stategy per se but is one of the best tool to give you a perfect map of the interactions of different timeframes implications in any two way auctions process. I do think that it helps a lot in understanding the interaction of supply and demand forces present in a everchanging market. Sincerely Shreem:)
  10. Hello Frank, thanks a lot for your great explanation of your resume of this book. In fact, I have like it so much that I have purchased the book and I have begin reading it and it is very good. As you can see, I am a really big advocate and fan of market profile and how it can be used in trading. I do really think that a deep understanding of market profile concepts along with a firmer understanding of the auction market theory and volume analysis is a great combination in developping a successful trading plan. So, thanks a lot for your hard work in putting that for us on this thread Sincerely Shreem:)
  11. Hello Dear Blu-Ray, congratulations on your new book. I am sure you will have a great time reading this. Big hat to you:) Sincerely Shreem:)
  12. Hello Dear Jperl, thank a lot about the reminder about how you see these S and R through your great threads on market statistics. I have look and studied all your threads and videos and right now I am trying to devise a sound approach to my trading incorporating your valuable ideas that I learned in your threads with a combination about how DbPhoenix view and define S and R zones, levels and points which arevery interesting and logical to see how he use them. So, as I see it, both of your trading style, eventhough having a different methodology to approach the market, are very compatible and can certainely be merged together to create my own style. Learning from great traders ideas is an excellent step in the right direction. However, until one can take all that he learn and mixed it to make its own so that he has the confidence to follow it with a strick discipline is even more important. Saying that, if my path would not have crossed both You (Jperl), DbPheonix, Soultrader, Walterw and some others, I would not even be in a position to be able to begin thinking about devising a sound approach. So, I feel very humbled and grateful to be able to learn from all of you. Sincerely Shreem:)
  13. Hello DbPheonix, the above post about the mean and its explanation is really interesting. For me, the concept of price going to extremes and retreating back toward its mean is really the kind of trades that I am looking at and I do consider them to be the most high probability trade setups. As price, and for that matter, anything in life, is always in constant motion to find a perpetual moving equilibrium, looking for a trade going back to the mean (equilibrium) really does make sens. That is where Market Profile can be handy with the mean (POC) and previous naked means (naked POC or untouched previous POC) can be the center line in one own target. Of course, how one calculate and decide which support and resistence zone to use is a different matter. However, by reading your book and your different posts, it make sens a lot to me how you calculate and find those S and R zones, levels and points and the means associated with them. That is why looking and studying the core of all great traders of the past as Dow, Whycoff and others, is really the way to go. Again, thank a lot for your valuable contribution to this forum Sincerely Shreem:)
  14. Hello Brownsfan019, thank for the question. Yes, it it true that their chartign are very not great. However, this is not a big issue since you can find easily available charting package for forex either free or not. So, for me this is a not a creteria for removing a star to them. The same for the widening of spread at new time as I dont trade news anyway. So, overall, very happy with them. The only thing is they dont offer future trading and i will be moving to trading e-mini so will need to find one for future Sincerely Shreem:)
  15. Hello Dear Soultrader, great idea that you have and sound a very interested and precious book to have. Thank for your generous offer. As I have been using Oanda for few years, you gave me an opportunity to write something about them. Here is the link: http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/broker.php?do=show&did=24 thank Great trading to all Sincerely Shreem:)
  16. Hello James, thank for sharing your insight. What you have said is truly a gemstone to succeed in the business of trading. I am very happy when I hear a trader making one of his most important move in his trading career which is being able to overpass the emotional turmoil involved in trading. When you can do that and follow your plan to the letter without any emotional involvment, a true serenity will come inside you and it will never quit you. I guess that is what is called a Ah! Ha! moment. Dear James, I am truly happy for your achievement and wish you great success in your trading. Your sharing is really a great to boost to newbees (like me) to have the will and determination to take all the time necessary to develop a trading plan and learn to execute without fail. BTW, that i what I am in the process of creating by "digesting" and incorporating the great teachings of DbPhoenix, Soultrader, Jperl, yourself and some others. Thank a lot Sincerely Shreem:)
  17. Hello Michael, if your interested in spot forex, the best time to trade where you will get most opportunities is from 02:00am eastern time to 11:00am eastern time. Of course, you will want to be carefull at 08:30am ET and 10:00am ET when most US news comes out and where it can be very volatile. Usually, asian session (18:00pm ET to 01:00am ET) is not really good as activity is very low most of the time. The exception would be as tonight when there is japanese news. For future, it would be usually from 09:30am ET to 15:30pm ET Hope it help Sincerely Shreem:)
  18. Hello Dear Soultrader, thank a lot for this video. Very interesting and I didn't find it long at all, more the contrary. I like to hear a trader point of view when trading in real time and all the thinking going on. Thank to have taken the time of making this video. Really like how you use the MP value high of yesterday and the present shape of the current day as a guide for your trading. Using price and volume relationship for setup in the background of the MP values is certainely giving you a great edge. Sincerely Shreem:)
  19. ha! ha! ha! very funny:o Seriously, these comments of mine are really the minimum that I can do to show you my gratitude in enlightening my way about how to see the market in its truest form which is to learn why the market is moving the way it is moving. Funny thing is I have spent a few thousand $ on my education of the market and can say frankly that I never come across something so significant. Really, your way of seeing things coupled with the style of Soultrader on Market profile and Jperl with his market statistic make a formidable combination in my learning curve. Sincerely Shreem:)
  20. Let me say some comments on DbPhoenix book. I have purchased it few days ago and I am very happy that I have done so. If you want my personal opinion, this book is gold for anybody wanting to get a more deeper understanding of the relationship of price, volume, demand and supply dynamics. As DbPhoenix mentionned, if you have some knowledge of VSA concepts and Market Profile concepts, this book is even greater as it deepen what you already know. Having read posts from him since last year on different forums, I can say that this person really knows his stuff and for me, personnally, it redirect my perception of the market dynamics in a new and positive way. Of course, to assimilate all the materials there do take some time, but time spend to learn and assimiliate the differents concepts presented there is worth doing it. Expression of a very much happy finder and reader of this book. P.S. sorry if I ramble too much but cannot be enough grateful and humble to DbPheonix to have put this together and to have him here of this great forum. Sincerely Shreem:)
  21. Hello, I use ensign software and it has the playback feature and it is working nicely. Also, 39$ a month for basic service with forex included and playback for the e-mini. + add fees for direct day to day access to e-mini either with IB, transact, Esignal or others. It is very good for learning by using the playback feature. Was suggested by DbPhoenix through his book that I purchassed (BTW excellent book and really like the content) and it really help to get the feel for the market in real time versus hindsight charts. Sincerely Shreem:)
  22. Hello Dbphoenix, very happy to see you around here. No doubt that your extended knowledge on price and volume will be a great add to this forum. Just purchased your book and will be more than happy to dig deep into it when will get it. In my learning curve, I feel very much priviledge to have the good karma of meeting great traders as you, Soultrader or Jperl as it help me a lot in developping my own thinking about how to approach the market and how to interact with it. No doubt, that having you, SL, Jperl, Walterws and a lot of others here will bring and even better forum. Sincerely Shreem:)
  23. Hello Soultrader, thank for the post. You are right, MP should be seen as a tool in one's arsenal. A very important tool which give us a clear map of our trading day. Especially when we deepen the relationship between the local traders (reflected in the IB of the MP) and the other timeframe traders (big players) of the range extension of the MP. I really like the book of MOM from Dalton and thank for the reference on the one from Steidlmayer. Will look into it. Sincerely Shreem:)
  24. Hello Soultrader, thank for your detailed explaination on the charts of Trader_74. They are excellent.:applaud: I really like to see your knowledge of MP. You seem to have an extended comprehension of the conceps of MP. As I am trying to incorporate MP in my trading strategy in forex (for now) and e-mini future in the future, I really enjoy looking at your posts and videos on market profile. Very much appreciated Sincerely Shreem:)
  25. Hello to all, if I can comment, I think that 6B stand for the British Pound future contract. Sincerely Shreem:) BTW, SL, really love your analysis of MP.
