  1. quick update, i'm still holding my short in aapl and fortunately I had the balls to hold out this bounce and see through it. Aapl retested its support at 450 at about 12 million volume which seems like it will be enough volume to break through until support at 437-40 which is where I plan to cover unless it breaks through on over 19 million volume.
  2. yea sorry after checking it out, i'd much rather just trade the actual markets unless I had low capital.
  3. here this pic shows more proof of the lack of volume for aapl's upside Aapl rose to the andrewchannel's resistance on 800k and then dropped immediately on 1.5 million and subsequently 1.1 million. so I see aapl dropping to its support at 437
  4. as you can see, aapl gapped up and created what would be resistance for aapl at 460 on a volume of 34 million. Aapl touched the resistance with its bounce because of the catalyst (samsung's s4) and still only reached a volume of 20 million and then immediately retracted and then today it attempted to touch the resistance but on 13.6 million so obviously aapl doesn't have the juice to let it through. So currently im short at 449.7 and plan to exit at about at most 437/40. Should be a good trade unless some stupid catalyst comes along.
  5. update, sorry I really need to begin updating you guys real time or else this is just worthless, but I ended up covering at like 429 and then I bought until 439 and did some petty successful trades and currently i am short at 449 and will cover oince I get a chance which should be soon, aapl doesn't have the juice it seems to take this bounce any further.
  6. an update, sorry for posting these way too late but you can forgive me, I can get busy sometimes. Well I ended up covering my short at around 427 and then I shorted aapl again at 433 and covered at about 428 and today I shorted aapl again at 431 and am currently holding my short.
  7. Yea being a trader definitely helps me be a better poker player and vice versa, they are almost the same game just a different platform.
  8. 2012 august, I began studying and a couple months ago I began trading.
  9. I've been following Traderflorida on stocktwits and he's been having webinars and I've learned so freakin much from them. He makes over 7 figures a year so yea he's pretty successful.
  10. In Armenia my parents knew a guy who got really drunk one night, climbed onto a tall tree with a saw and sat down on a branch. He began cutting the branch and when it cut he fell down with it.
  11. yea same here, I just trade technicals. Only pay attention to catalysts that can overturn any technical.
  12. https://www.quantopian.com/ This site lets you create an algorithm any you can backtest it on any stock through any time period and it will show you the results.
  13. Obviously there is going to be more success then there will be failures. If you strive to be the 1% or even the .1% you can achieve it or get close. Bunch of socialist crap.
  14. The reason why I went short on aapl at 433. aapl tested its resistance of 435 at 500k volume, then again it tried on twice that, with 1.2 million and immediately retraced down. Today it reached the resistance on 500k volume at its peak, obviously the chances of it breaking the resistance are low because it was able to push back a up move with a volume of 1.2 million. Therefore you can conclude that aapl was moving without cause(volume) and therefore it will 90% of the time be pushed back below its resistance granting you a profit. Plus I can keep my hopes up that aapl will gap down tomorrow to 420 and from there to 405.
  15. Last trading day I shorted aapl at 433 and currently I am still holding and plan to sell once it reaches 420 or if it drops to 405.
  16. Oh, wow thanks, that guy trades much like I do. I'm going to read that pdf that's on the forum.
  17. I find support and resistance and analyze it with the volume in order to better predict which way the stock will go, using other tools such as fibonacci, etc I can determine where the stock will likely head for me to sell or if it were to not go my way I could get out at a smaller loss.
  18. I covered my position on aapl this morning at 427 because of two reasons. One, I don't like trading a stock that is in consolidation and also because I had school which limited my screen time. I still came out with a small profit and that's fine enough for me.
  19. This market day I shorted aapl at 429.28 and held mainly because I believe aapl is more likely to test its support in 415 then break resistance at 435 considering that the only reason aapl bounced today was because of the announcement of the iWatch which is why I saw this as a nice opportunity to short.
  20. I created another thread titled "edgararakelyan stock market trading log", and in it you would see that I sold my shares and then did some other trades and recently this morning I covered my short (433) at 423.
  21. support would be found in the 405s then onto the 390s and then onto 360s.
  22. If aapl drops below this trendline on heavy volume, it won't find support until 400/390 so i'm prepared to go short again if it does.
  23. quick update. I've had a few successful trades this past month but this morning I covered a short of aapl at 433 at 423. will post my view on aapl in a sec.
  24. Will short aapl if it can break the support and test it as a resistance which I think may happen.
  25. I'm hoping to have a nicely sized account before I move out of my parent's house. If I could get at least 250,000 dollars that would be enough because with margin it would be half a million, and I know I can at least make 20% which would be more than enough to live on.
