There is an excellent book I recommend all of you read, called: "Four Steps to Trading Success," by John Clayburg. I don't agree with everything in the book, but he does make many several very good points worth considering. That is the mark of a good trading book -- it makes you think and gives you something to test or consider vs. your trading methods.

 

One of the ideas that I completely agree with is (Pg. 10):

 

It is necessary to evaluate stop placement thoroughly over a significant amount of historical data if one is to formulate a profitable long-term day trading strategy.
