Hello. Just wanted to share my new trading desk:
I got a great deal on 2 used Proview LCD monitors, $15 each. The 3rd one I bought used from internet for about $70 including shipping. Then I got a second ATI 256 MB graphic card. So now I can have a total of 4 monitors.
These LCDs are a step up from the CRT monitors. They are easier on the eyes, consume less power, and less space.
3 monitors should improve my trading with multiple time frames.
So to recap my trading computers:
AMD Athlon 2800+ 64 bit 2GHZ, 2.5 GB Ram, 2 ATI Radeon 256 MB graphic cards, 1 APC 1300 VA UPS to backup my computer's power supply and 1 APC 500VA to back up my cable modem. Also had to replace my computer's power box today with a 500watt power box.
As a backup computer and to keep my main computer from over working I have a VAIO laptop with 2 graphic cards, one for high performance setting and one for low batter consumption setting, built in wireless cell phone internet. 2 GHZ, 2GB Ram, Intel Centrino Core Duo. Usually I don't buy the expensive brands like VAIO but I got it 30% off brand new from a Comp USA liquidation. On this laptop I can run CNBC or any of my cable channel from anywhere with an internet connection through the Slingbox which is connected to my cable TV and home network.
Excuse me if I'm being a bit of a show off, but I'm very excited it.

Abe,Good to hear... here's how you 'pay it forward' - when you are on this site or other trading sites and see you a fresh newbie claiming they know all after glancing at some books at Barnes & Noble, your job is to try to help that person, as we have tried to do here.

Brownsfan, I agree. I've been busy recently so have not had much time to watch the markets, but it's looking stable.
I'm feeling more confident, but not enough to start trading for real. I'm glad that nice people like you and others were there to encouraged me to paper trade and to offer advice.

Hello. Today we have a busy day. Fed is scheduled to speak at 10AMET. An hour later Bush is scheduled to announce a plan to allow the Federal Housing Administration to guarantee loans for delinquent borrowers. The Chigago PMI is also due at 9:45AMET. World markets are up with big gains. Good trading.

Abe,Going to offer 1 suggestion here - instead of the short timeframes and settings, just see how a 10, 15, 30 and 60 minute chart looks to you. Just see for comparison if things would be done differently on your end.

Hello. The Dow is up in premarket. Asia and Pacific markets are mostly down. Europe is mostly up. Good trading.

My hope is to make more money than I spend. Currently I spend more money than I make. I have lots of debt, mostly from student loans.
I would like to get the money to buy a good house. I would like to put solar panels and energy and water saving features on my house to make it self sufficient, in case the power goes out.
I also would like to buy a sail boat, good land, nice automobile, gadgets,
good food, vacation, a private island, and good quality things.
If I have 10 million dollars: I would invest most of it in real estate, some commercial, some residential. And some land. I would still want to
learn about trading.
I want to have a secure and comfortable life.

Again Abe not a bad entry, you just got taken out on a stop run. A stop order thats placed after a hammer should always be placed under the hammer until a reaction low has been formed. It would take effort (money) to run a stop below that.That makes sense Paul.
