  1. I love that first chart ant. I would love to hear how your playing this intraday. Like right now at 10:16 price was kind of balancing between 1534 and 1535 then started moving up, are you looking to possibly fade price if it hits resistance at that high volume area? Do you have a intraday TPO chart going right now?
  2. here is an example from Options as A Strategic Investment: XYZ common, 50 XYZ july 50 call 3 XYZ july 50 put 2 "If one purchased both the jully call and july 50 put, he would be buying a straddle. This would cost 5 points, plus commisions. If the underlying stock is exactly at 50 at expiration, the buyer would lose all his investment since both the put and all would expire worthless." Basically, to make any money with that straddle you add up the premium you paid and add and subtract it from the underlying. If the stock is between 45 and 55 at expiration you would have a net loss. The kicker is the more volatility the higher the premium is going to be. To me options are so deceptive and complex that the only way to play them is to be on the other side of that trade so your collecting premium and not paying it out.
  3. ahh comeon, Shogun is my favorite fighter. thats just rubbing salt in an open wound with that picture.
  4. I'm also interested what software you are using Fulcrum. From that ET thread though i'm sure this is not standard stuff at all. I think one guy said he wrote his own software and Neoticker can do it also because it can take snapshots of the book at 1 second intervals and then build the charts from that data it. Neoticker scares me...
  5. check out Dcraigs charts here http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=68098&perpage=6&highlight=acv&pagenumber=17 Very interesting charts. I think that is the first time I've ever seen Ehlers DSP ideas put to use that it actually looks usefull. That FIR filter looks to really be smoothing out the book delta candle information nicely.
  6. Very interesting elite trader thread. Makes me sad to see how far elite has fallen. Is this stuff really only good for scalping though? I have to finish that thread but I'm not sure it sounds like you would be able to get all that much better trade location if your doing anything more than a scalp. Interesting to read how powerfull neoticker is in that thread too. This could be really interesting on nikkei futures if these games are illegal there. I've watched the CBOT gold book before, if you want to see really absurd games check that out.
  7. There was a cool article in Trader Magazine months back about John Arnold, Amaranth and Brian Hunter. I guess it was basically a duel to the death in natural gas trading. Brian Hunter/Amaranth were trying to hold the market up themselves and Arnold, his fund and the market just kept blasting them until they put them into oblivion. Then after it was all over Arnold and Hunter had lunch togather. I'm guessing Arnold picked up the check.
  8. personally, I don't even think Bush is behind policy decessions let alone planning 9/11. To me he's just the black sheep frat boy of the family who had the right name and family connections to have a great political career. There is no way Cheney or any of his fathers friends can even care what he thinks. I actually feel bad for Bush, it has to be a tough position to be in. A stand in president with no real power who gets to read what an idiot he is for decissions he's not even making day in and day out.
  9. well compared to Sirtrade at 400 euros a year and 7 bucks a month CBOT fee that Ninja plugin looks like real a bargain. I think 250 is a fair price for that that does, it looks pretty too. thanks for that waveslider, I will check that out.
  10. hi, check out the thread in Trading Indicators. Blowfish looks like he should have everything pretty much nailed down at some point as far as matching Jerry's videos.
  11. hey Blowfish, that sounds good to me, multiple day stuff would be fantastic, I'm in now hurry. That chart is very interesting there, now thats what I call support and resistance! damn...
  12. wow that sirtrade MP is incredible but good lord that price is absurd. Is the CBOT fee the reason why tradestation doesn't have much going on for market profile? It just doesn't seem like it can be that hard to code up to get the basic profile.
  13. Blowfish, can you post this? That last chart looks very nice.
  14. http://www.newegg.com/Store/Category.aspx?Category=19&name=Monitors They have new ones for around that price. 22 inchers are going for around $200-220 now though, I want to pick one up shortly.
  15. I was going to say...we have 2 MMA gyms here so there must be something in Denver. http://www.bjjboulder.com/ http://www.gummbjj.com/ damn...this is where Nate Marquardt trains out of and Ken Shamrock would train at this one: http://www.grapplers-edge.com/ haha, I think I would stay far away from that one unless you want to get your ass kicked. Its probly insanely expensive too. Gummbjj sounds pretty cool...bjj, wrestling, boxing and muay thai.
  16. http://ww2.fitness19.com/ they are expanding all over the country. Part of their business model is they only offer monthly memberships, they don't even offer a bogus long term contract. Its really smart, i've been waiting for ever for someone to low ball golds and world gym.
  17. great stuff. Everytime I'm ready to give up on Mind Over Markets I randomly read a part of it then run across some gem. I just ran across the ledge part in ant's chart and Dalton's great movie theater/volume analogy earlier tonight. Seems like chipping away at it is that only way to read it. Someone always buys me books for christmas so I'm just going to wait and get Markets in Profile then. Good point about alot of longs with bad location. Then on the other hand though maybe there was alot of higher time frame buyers on the phone with their brokers after 5pm. Tomarrow seems pretty tough.
  18. Maybe its just like my mom. When my sister and I were kids we had a dog but it was just treated like a dog. Once we got older and my mom didn't need to take care of us she went dog nuts. Always has 2 dogs now that she treats like kids. I've noticed this with women i've been meeting too. If they don't have a kid they have a dog that may as well be their kid. I've thought about getting a shiba inu dog. It looks like a tiny fox and has more energy than any dog in the world. I'm just not sure yet if I can handle a dog with that much energy.
  19. My gym problems are solved. Just got a flyer in the mail this gym is opening down the street thats 19 bucks to join then 19 bucks a month. Finally someone figured out that most people don't want to pay for a swimming pool, raquetball and 10 on site personal trainers that they will never use.
  20. I would go for a straight up MMA gym. Even in this dieing city we have 2 different ones to pick from now. They basically teach brazilian jujitsu, muay thai and boxing on different nights of the week then have sparring and things like that. The only downside with that is i'm sure your going to have a high percentage of wanna be badasses who takes things way to seriously but I'm sure it would be super intense. One of the MMA gyms here even has a pretty nice free weight setup.
  21. If they had shown Medow opening the door then cut to black maybe it would have been more obvious i guess. Too obvious though, the last scene being Medow would be terrible. Same deal, you want to keep that line of thinking going but its on Tony's face. Tony was the whole show...I love that scene, just try to watch it like how i describe because to me you are just missing out. I agree with Entourage, as long as they don't kill Johny Drama I'll watch. You must have HBO on demand, watch the first episode of season 6 of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larry David came out with a vengence, 3 years to think of ideas, I died laughing. Down with Seinfield.
  22. Jerry, does this apply to all your trades or just position/breakout/no skew to the market trades?Or even just position trades/no skew? Also, if yesterdays close is a HUP I take the high and low of yesterday is also a HUP? If I ask you any stupid questions I'm sorry. This is kind of why I never did good in math classes in highschool or college. I get the first few videos but I learn top down then fill in the details where your building on the details. Have fun in china, I don't know how you could not. That should be an interesting time to say the least. When you get back though, HUP theory, please? I'm dieing to understand what you see there.
  23. Dogpile, do you not bother with the TPO/lettered chart MP concept at all? You proxy that through traditional TA? I got sick of trying to get into the nuance of the TPO graph last night in Mind Over Markets and just read the last chapter. I'm half through the book and the information overload is at the point that if you posted a volume distribution of a bracketed market, I would have no clue. I would love to hear a more conceptual post on how you use MP. I'm more interested in the core concepts I soppose then the details, thats just how I learn.
  24. Ahh well that makes sense if you already have a home gym going. Did you buy a set? One of them? Two? What does your home gym dumbell setup look like? I completely want to get a home gym going at some point. I remember the bow flex adjustable dumbell set from TV awhile back. When I looked it up though it only went to 55lbs a side, that sucks. How much did it cost? I found a cheap gym pretty close that is 40 a month, I'm still dragging my feet on if to join or just invest and convert a room in my house to a small gym and add on when the money comes. Hell, I would be more than happy to just be able to do shoulder flies and incline dumbell presses to look good for the women starting out.
  25. reaver, how are the kettleballs? Do they really feel that much different than just doing the same stuff with dumbells? I watched some stuff on them months back, was already to get into it then found the price of them, damn.....
