I like to use the 3,5 and 20 day MACD's for tracking pairs. I've also found that any shorter term indicators are less usefull. -

From my own personal experience I would recommend starting off with funds that are expendable. At least for me when the funds are less, I feel less pressure when positions are going against me and I am able to make more sound decisions. -
This is usefull info. I am relatively new to Forex trading and it seems to me that perfecting my stops and losses will help my profits.
