  1. Hi Oddi, I didn't know this started as far back as '03. 2006 was as far as I could trace on the threads for JH methods. I have a long way of learning catch-up to do. Oh well, on with the learning and thanks to everyone who are contributing value to this thread and especially those who are already well advanced in this methodology, sharing selflessly their knowledge and guiding those who are new.
  2. Spyder, I think you hit the nail on the head with your comment. I am one of them learners just started a short while ago learning PVT. The challenge in front of me amongst others is remaining in the same fractal and not jump fractals throughout the day. As I chance upon this thread rather late, could you please point me to the part where you pointed out the process of learning how to learn plus the drill on FTT and wash trades if you will. Thank you for sharing.
  3. In my view, 1335 up bar began as a move to pt 3 of tape down that started at 1310. 1340 began as move down fr pt 3 but the bar closed up (ibgs). 1345 vol increased showing a b2b breakout of the short started from 1310. This would create pt 2 of a long fractal of which the short which began maybe just 1350 is part of the move from pt 2 to pt 3 which when the pattern completes, a move up (WMCN) would continue . My chart on that day attached as far as I can see it. Apologies for the messiness .
  4. I was actually looking at the similarities and thought that both of you must be on almost exactly the same page in terms of logical thinking and visualization of the fractals and gaussians :o Then this means perhaps rs5 would care to provide some comments on my questions.
  5. Hi cnms2, Thanks for posting the chart. If I read the chart correctly, the volume pane from 2:10 pm EST showed faster fractals gaussians and you had drawn maybe a fractal slower to capture the b2b. I am still in the early stages of learning, and I would usually build from the smallest fractal up based on the gaussians to arrive at the price fractal. Would that be a correct approach ? The pink channel container - was that drawn after PT3 at 3:35 pm and was it a WMCN anticipation ? Thanks again for sharing.
  6. If I understand your comment correctly, for each of the containers to exist on equal footing, then it is part of the 1-2-3 of a larger container. Which would mean that the red move down would be the second move to find pt 3 as you have drawn. The gaussians would be supporting this. So for a full move down, then we need to have a R2R2B2R. So I redrew the gaussians to reflect that (thanks to ehorn's chart). Earlier I drew a tape down FF2, followed by FF3. But it looks like FF3 cannot be on the same footing since it would mean a point 3 within the previous Long TF1. And therefore, it is only a part of the red move down. Hope I am getting it close to getting the "why" correct.
  7. Hi ehorn, Great move ! WTG ! As I study your chart, I observed that from bar 8 (10:10 AM) to 18 ftt, your first tape was from bar 1 to 8, second tape move from bar 8 - 18 on the down move before the final tape up to the top. I had some issues with understanding the 2nd tape move down. On my chart, I had 2 additional tapes on the small move up bar 13 - 15 and then down tape 15 - 17. What would be the right way to annotate this type of situations as I find that it does happen quite alot ?
