  1. Thanks guys for your compliments ¡¡ I also learn with you ¡¡ hope you make tons of moneys... cheers Walter.
  2. Cattus, thats what I actually trade live... I just dont post any more those so I can get my focus here on the forum into new stuff... cheers Walter.
  3. Unicorn : so far BOP outperforms ad and chaikin... remember to take care on momentum conditions, as they may diverge and then still keep going on the same direction... counter trend trades demand good momentum discernment skills... cheers Walter.
  4. So far at this point after some testings I am more inclined to use mt4 ... its true I dont have tick charts there but still its good for forex vmar trading and I never had any data issues there... cant go live tradimng on a platform that sometimes haves 2 or 3 hours of data gap (forex data) ... its not responsable, I am very glad with all the super indicators we got there,I know they will be usefull for lot of people, still data issues are not good... cheers Walter.
  5. That will certainly be a Religious Setup Brown ¡¡¡ jejejej... take care... cheers Walter.
  6. S&R... yes... actually this analisis eventually gets automatically discounted on the vmar setups, as you most probably will take trades from very good competitive S&R levels... determining them its some times hard, any algorithm of S&R, be it pivots, fibos, MP levels etc, have 50/50 performance in terms of rejections... all of this levels nornally have two posible outputs : break or hold... so the levels are not so important as the capacity of anticipating a break or a hold... and thats where momentum readings (from my perspective) give you the edge on your trading, as it should give you the discernment on anticipating breaks or holds... Now once you have a perception of momentum thru vmars, you clearly get good in anticipating breaks or holds from some good clear levels, whatever they be... so THE SKILL is "Momentum Discernment"... did you see the video series ?... cheers Walter.
  7. EXCELLENT Advices here Bruce ¡¡ I like your clear understanding in not getting married with any particular bias about the market but riding the waves and taking home the pips of each of this momentum driven waves... (call it scalping, etc ) certainly vma`s do a great job in creating a great amplified visual context to take this very simple trades and profit on a regular basis... No needs to buy and hold or short and hold... if the trade its not going on the correct way you are out (tight), there will be lots of oportunities ahead ¡¡ thats the beauty of trading, it is a signed blanck check of oportunities, just need to focus on taking the ones that really have the best competitive potential output, and vma`s do a great job showing those ones... Nice inputs here guys... cheers Walter.
  8. Hi Unicorn, thats precisely what I am working right now... taking some decisions into wich is the better combination of indicators, even I am still not convinced of using NT as it has data problems... so I am letting the sands settle down and once I get the most simple and optimized combo I will make it public on a new thread... my idea is going live with that defined combination and be consistent posting my live trades during a year at least... So that thread will be diferent to the research threads as it will show something already defined and used on the live realm... it will be cool... cheers Walter.
  9. Glad you like them Unicorn, the number 1 means I am not using the signal line there... I will check on that area of the videos... take care, cheers Walter.
  10. I attch NT formula... the indicator comes with NT basic indicators... cheers Walter. bop on NT.txt
  11. Hi Jerry, thanks for your post here ¡¡ I consider you the expert on this arena... I really aprecciate all your great threads ¡¡ no doubts you got it to the real practical thing... I got really interested on Levine`s work as I finded some good logic behind it, now he did it on daily bars... question would be if it really would work for daytrading... but now that we got the tools we can find out how this could turn out... Dynamic S&R levels from statistical analisis YES... thats for sure one big edge... obviously the capacity in reading the posible output Break or Hold its the next great edge... well we will see what we can do arond Levine`s ideas... cheers Walter.
  12. NO needs to loose time on this stuff... there is no real super edge there... what sounded interesting to me is what you mentioned about bid and ask volumes... interesting... could this generate some synthetic delta ? I know my next thread on forex (my pro-live aproach) will be a little upseting for some people, as I came all the way back to the vma basics and found it much more competitive than any fancy new research we did... still I like the idea of keep researching new things, happens that for live trading I like to be as much conservative and simplified as posible... No needs to go more bald, we got all we need to succeed in the markets... maybe its time to get consistent on old good clasic vmar setups, so far Bruce thats where I am headed... Thanks for ALL YOUR GREAT CONTRIBUTIONS ¡¡ cheers Walter.
  13. As we unfortunately lost the attachments on this thread, I thought It would be conveniant to upload again the video series on momentum discernment we had here... I believe it is a key to success in trading... After this post I would appreciate if some mod can close this thread... I will prefer to continue this topics on a bran new thread... For those who are following my forex research on vmar icons, scalps etc... I plan to do a new thread (some time mid december 07) with my definitive aproach I will be using on my live forex trading, that will explain my definitive aproach, wich charting platform I will use , etc, etc.. and will be following trades as well... thanks for all support guys during the open research process, also hope it had some general educational value... for those who want to know in advance where I am headed, well basicly into vmar icons on the 5 and 1 min "setuping" / "timing" strategy explained here http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f24/walter-s-forex-trend-trades-2364.html so far I find this timeframes the most reliable at this point... and probably the most easy to trade... will add to that the most easy centripetal setups too... see you there... cheers Walter. 14. Interesting Posts Sundowner and Bruce... I did look the mba thesis thread some time ago, looked very nice, even got contacted by jjk2 to look into aplications, now what I see is that what I looked was the first "crap version"... now he posted a new version wich really follows the swings much smoother and has an interesting leading effect... but dont see any edge other than the 0 line area... combining momentum oscillators and making a salad of them finally gives a new hybrid momentum oscillator... I agree with Bruce that there is a lot of mathematical incompatible things there... now the interesting thing on this one is his presence on the 0 line previous to a posible long signal, where the author so far finds more clean signals from there to the long than from above to the down side... that 0 line and then take off looks interesting... wonder if it doesnt repaint... I tested on 1 min and works ok to me... anyway he is not excempt from the same drawdowns any momentum oscillator has... cheers Walter.
  15. Thanks Sparrow for this one... will be testing it next week... cheers Walter.
  16. Hi Cattus, Hi Pyenner... very interesting info... no problem with postings, we are not that strict, otherways it would be imposible to do all what we did so far... flexibility is a good policy sometimes... Cattus : I DO trade centripetal trades, actually thats my expertise in futures, but I do it in a diferent graphic context, you may want to check this threads : http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f34/the-false-break-trade-1994.html http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f34/the-lazy-trade-1942.html so far I trade with this charts, using keltners and regular cci.... Now this new graphic context looks good, so I may start doing some live trades with it, I actually already did some... I share Bruce perspective in the selection of pairs for forex... so far I am on Eur/Jpy for my research as it has a nice range and at least with EFX, spread goes from 1 to 3 pips, so its a very nice pair to get a good scalping strategy runing... take care Cattus and thanks Bruce for the good info ¡¡ Love to hear your scalping results ¡¡ cheers Walter.
  17. OK let me share on this thread the forex charts with our same tools.. on this case for the sake of simplicity (on the forex research) I am focusing only on the divergences from BOP and M`s (false breaks/ equal) patterns.. Timing with green/ black sweet darling vma`s ... just scalps here, shoot for some pips.... What I see, its a high rate of performance on this trades, if you shoot to make 10 pips per day... just with this simple stupid trade, you are in bussiness... cheers Walter.
  18. If you are a very smart fellow you can.... I am left brained... lol... :crap:
  19. Thanks Armand ¡¡ I am glad this is taking more shape... I am also being able to get a more clear view of this new context... so easy, once you get used to it... for example I am now looking the same charts on forex, and its so nice the amount of great trades this simple method gave... maybe I should post some of those forex charts as well, but dont know in wich thread jejeje :haha: ... will choose one thread to add this charts on forex... they also look really great... Thanks Armand for encouragment ¡¡ hope you do a lot of money with this ¡¡ cheers Walter.
  20. Did you ask a mod to look on this issue ? sometimes this happens, but remember that edition after 60 min its not allowed any more, have to ask help to mod for that... take care man... how are Icons doing on those currencies futures ? cheers Walter.
  21. Here goes the first two versions Sparrow created on the indicator... cheers Walter. VWAP_v0[1].1.6b.zip VWAPMulti_v0[1].9.zip
  22. I started here http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f24/playing-with-the-dynamic-vwaps-open-2859.html#post24914 the new thread on dynamic vwaps... cheers Walter.
  23. So here I open this thread where we can open our minds arround this new dynamic vwaps... Here we can interact freely on the great amount of alternatives this type of indicator brings.. I know we may come up with very cool ideas on how we can use them... and even more, we can optimize some programing ideas into this very interesting algorithm... For the people that are not following the very first genesis on this ideas, let me make a small intro about this... Vwaps ... we have a great deal of information with great detail here on TL thanks to Jerry`s great Threads, I understand at this point they are already 11 threads... great info, great teaching ¡¡ thanks Jerry ¡¡ Here are some links to Jerrys threads : http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f6/trading-with-market-statistics-i-volume-1962.html http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f6/trading-with-market-statistics-ii-the-1990.html now, vwaps here will be treated with some new variations... the first new concept to be introduced here is Paul Levines Midas aproach... Basicly he takes vwaps (btw we must check his exact formulation) and he has the ability to choose from what date and time the vwap starts... from there on we will call them : dynamic vwaps as they are dynamic into the flexibility we have of choosing where they start... I attach once again his material wich was published for the free public... Unfortunately Paul passed away and his method did not pick much popularity... Well here we are ¡¡ ready to revisit the method and also start creating some fancy NEW IDEAS arround this indicator... Nothing could be done without the tools... and this week we had the blessing of having programed one very first version of this tools on NT (Ninjatrader) charting platform... the vwap was programed for NT by Josh on Ninjatrader Forum who is a Certified NinjaScript Expert and here on TL is cvax... then Sparrow did program the dynamic version wich has the ability to choose the time where the vwap starts plotting... so YES ¡¡ we got a very nice first tool to start working on... Apart of being vwaps, they also have sd bands as well... So here will be the arena to deal with this topic... we will see where we get... hope somwhere jejeje.... cheers Walter. Paul Levine Midas Trading Method 1.zip Paul Levine Midas Trading Method 2.zip
  24. And here some videos recaping some of todays trades... hope it brings more light... cheers Walter. Recap 1.swf Recap 2.swf Recap 3.swf
