  1. As for it being distracting...I'm not wanting to make this a distraction from anything. Heck, I don't even know if it would work out or not, just tossing an idea out there. I figured it could be done at a time when the markets aren't in motion...or even something like ranj's idea of having each member of the group post a video of 2-3 issues that they are watching at the current time and post that up to a group. that might work out, too. Then we could have the interaction be in the form of typing. Again, just tossing ideas out.

  2. This sort of discussion has absolutely no merits. This sort of thing doesn't need to be on this board as it provides no one with any educational value. That is the mission of Traders Laboratory and since we are obviously here to blow our own horns, this thread is closed down.

  3. well, what I was thinking was doing something like Sunday evenings or late afternoons. Something when the market isn't in action.

As for how to do it...hotcomm is an idea, though it costs money and is only PC. ;) As for something else that can do the trick...I'm not too sure. Hotcomm is definitely an option for that sort of thing. I'll check it out.

  4. Swing trading anything, really. I just want to have some sort of discussion group outside of just typing. Like...really hear peoples voices since typing can take a while to get an idea out. Im not sure how it could be implemented so we could have charts and stuff....but definitely something I think would be awesome.

  5. Hey all,

I must admit, I hate not having anyone to talk to about what I do all day long besides type it out on the computer in this forum. I love this forum for that, but I would LOVE to have a discussion group going through like skype or some other VOiP deal where there's serious interaction. I used to attend a group back in Indiana where people would be responsible for bringing 2-3 stocks to each weekly discussion that they're currently stalking for entry or are already in.

I have no idea if anyone would be remotely interested in something like this, but I most certainly am. I would love to find out how people trade the markets.

If there's any interest at all in that sort of thing, please let me know.

    Thanks all!

  6. Here's a great example of how buying calls can go wrong....

This is all inside a spread I've been holding and I'm watching value go down when it should be going up...thinking, what the heck is going on here? Note how the calls I bought (far OTM strikes) are holding less value than the ones I sold, but the price of SPY has been going up. Interesting to note how this can happen when volatility goes down. I sold these when IV was around 22.5% and now is at about 20%. Am I currently getting hurt by that? Absolutely. But the time premium should erode here quickly on that sold call giving me what I need.

  7. Sorry to hear things didn't go good there. I'm not at all recommending a service and never would recco a service to anyone. The thing he had to say were interesting for sure and were things i had never seen before. I wouldn't trade off of those ideas alone...ever....as i think I've got a much more solid understanding of things regarding the market than to base my trades off of someone elses indicators. But...his stuff was cool to see.

  8. I see what you mean. On a daily chart I tend to look backwards a bit more than just a couple days. But yea, I'd say in the VERY short term it does seem a bit bullish...but I would be more apt to hold on for a sell signal. While there is some volume coming in on the down days, it's in no way climactic telling us that demand could be outpacing the supply in the heavy volume bars. These bars have just enough volume to make ya think it's not a good situation.
