I'm Almost Ready to Get Started

Recommended Posts

Hello all this is my first post. I have been trading for a hedge fund and am now ready to set off on my own. I plan on trading US ETFs. Since I will be doing it from work for the next few months, I will be using a bloomberg platform and using interactive brokers for execution. A few questions if anyone can help:

1. How do you keep track of all the trades come tax time? My accountant will kill me if I give him thousands of trades to process.

2. When I start trading from home, I'll be using a FIOS connection with 20/2 speed over a wireless network. Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks, and I am very glad to have found this forum...

IB has a fairly extensive range of reports you can download in various formats (word, excel, quicken, msmoney etc.). Its pretty neat. Not sure whether you can access them on a test account though.
