  1. Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm sure it's not going to be obvious at EVERY major level, but I'm betting that it will give you a serious leg up. I personally feel that knowing what the underlying issues are doing is just too useful to ignore.
  2. I somewhat share your frustration. I will wait for a second test, only to watch it sail away without a pull back. Or attempt on a first test only to get owned by a shakeout/fakeout. I'm seriously considering using the TICKQ (I primarily watch NQ) as well as just that little extra bit of information. Obviously with practice and know how it can be put to excellent use. I'd be interested in seeing those periods where you looked back and found the TD. DB uses a 1 tick chart to watch for these, were you using a similar TF? It would be difficult to question DB's results.
  3. It seems like you are right on the edge of having it all fall into place. Good work. ES is tough stuff if you ask me.
  4. I see what you are saying. Thank you
  5. Ammo what is it you mean by "touch" ? The support or resistance level?
  6. Awesome analogy regarding potential. Becoming a captive of your own beliefs is something I believe everybody does at some point and few break free. This is especially apparent in the markets. Excellent post DB.
  7. Thank you! Looks like its on the way back up now. These boards really are invaluable for knowledge. Have learned volumes here.
  8. I've been following along with this thread for quite some time and just thought i would throw in my EXTREMELY noob analysis for the ES. This chart covers the last 5 days with 15 minute candle be gentle :embarassed:
  9. Through what I've read and observed modeling the habits of successful traders is a good way to go. Not so much try to copy their technique but pay attention to the habits and attitudes that make them successful. Scalper - are you referring to recording the trades you made then reviewing them for things like, why did I take this trade? How could I have done it better? Why did I exit etc... in an attempt to improve execution? If so that sounds like a good practice. Brownsfan - do you have any non system specific daily habits I could learn from?
  10. Awesome, thank you for the responses. My apologies for the duplicate thread, I didn't see it in my searches. I guess the main issue for me is getting that screen time. Can't exactly watch screens at work to get that feel. I guess I need to accept that this won't happen for me anytime soon. The major irony is I am contracted to one of the major investment companies in the IT department. Maybe I could walk around on the trading floor and gain knowledge through osmosis.
  11. Can anyone offer advice on making the transition from a 9 to 5 office job to a day trader? There are some obvious inherent problems with making the move like time for instance. The inability to trade US markets because of the job etc. Because I'm just starting out I am reluctant to try and play foreign markets but that may be the only option. I'd be interested to hear from those that are now successfully day trading for a living and how they got there.
  12. Thank you. This board has been a wealth of information for me so far. Lots of good folks here.
  13. Halo was the only shoot em up I could ever play on the Xbox. Console controllers don't lend well to aim/shoot/strafe/jump/weaponswitch at the same time type action in my opinion.
  14. I'm upgrading to Windows 3.11 myself. Windows went to hell when they introduced the Start Menu :o
  15. Anybody want to donate their DVR to me? :embarassed:
  16. Best of luck. I always made more funny money playing poker.
  17. It appears policies have changed and I can no longer lurk, read and not post. So hello Trader's Lab. Long time reader, first time poster.
