Tomer,Have you posted your scoring methodology somewhere in TL? It seems interesting.
Hi Niko
No i haven't, attached is my october trading log, i left it as is so you can see the excel formulas in action.
on the last sheet "Entry Rules" each setup has it's rules, on the first sheet "Trade" i enter the trades i took during the trading session, and on Q&R column i enter how many rules per setup i followed. all this is done at the end of the day when i analyze each trade taken.
in RT i have a separate log in which i document the trade and also which rules of the setup triggered the trade.
this way i can compare my decision making in real time to my analysis in hindsight.
i sum things up weekly and monthly, and since i like graphs i started integrating them into the spreadsheet.
this process allow me to refine my rules as time passes, besides all the "regular" stats you can extract from the data.
note it's a work in progress so be skeptical..
i have not finished the backtesting nor the forward testing of the rules and setup's
hope it helps.

My levels for today. It found R at the midpoint of the last downswing.Currently around the 60 level. If broken down 44 is my next level of S, if tested successfully R expected around 71-77.
Niko
for my taste the TL from 40 to 30 is redundant and wrong, trend lines “serve to define the stride of the price movement...".
you should have plotted it as close as possible to the immediate trend.
just my 2c

TR refers to Trading Range (see the Glossary). And, as I've said, diagonal lines, whether they're trendlines or demand/supply lines, don't provide S or R. If you want to know where S or R will appear, look at the TRs. You may think that the TLs are providing S and R, but you're throwing virgins into the volcano.TLs and DLs and SLs have jobs to do and they do them well. But they don't provide S or R, only the appearance of it.

Thank you
Please feel free to move this to the TBP if it's more appropriate.
I'm trying to change the way i look at price action.
i noted on the chart today's price action. is it better / more correct to look at price action this way?

And how is it helping you in RT? The R is being provided by TRs, not TLs, particularly since the latter are being drawn in hindsight.Db
not sure about TR (assuming it's trend resistance)
i once read a post describing the jargon used in one of the threads but could not find it now.
i draw trend lines to try and predict "where" R or S will appear, R in a down trend and S in an uptrend.
eventually the PA in those areas (next to to TL) is what matters.
i extend the TL further more on my charts (to get the trajectory ), on tick charts i find it pretty accurate in the NQ, especially in trending days.

Stop outs because of wider price movement are around 3 points in some cases. Is that reasonable? I am not sure how to reduce it without compromising logical points of exit. Or am I missing something?Gringo
for me it is, even 5 points in some cases..
but the real answer is it depends on your MM plan

yes but TL is holding
could be a nice hinge forming

I would like to introduce myself, but I feel I may go off on a little tangent and do not want to take away from the thread obviously. So basically I am asking if this is ok because this is where I'd like to spend my time on this site?P.S. I took that short trade this morning. My first trade with no indicators and colored bars etc. So I will post what I saw for anaylzing when I get home from work.
Thanks guys.

Today I had a weird day.
Even though it was a losing day, I ended up with a good feeling, a feeling of pride and accomplishment, pride with the loses, and pride with the fact that I managed to execute all of the trades according to my plan !.
After reviewing my day I stand behind every trade and every lose, since I executed all of them according to my plan.
If I had to redo a trade I would have taken it the same way I did in RT
I managed to adapt to changes in price and move on, not letting my previous trade affecting my judgment.

Crude view
I'm with tupapa, i think major levels are more important, and the guessing game is useless since you will know if a level was major and minor only in hindsight.
34 range – a clear large frame downtrend, currently testing it, price is after a nice down swing with a decent RET back at previous trading range box lows,
13 range – price @ major area, below are minor areas of interest (I usually mark swing high/low )
Areas of interest
R @ 91.8
S @ 90.60
Minor S on the way down up to 87.70
