  1. Hi Steve,

I have been through your "Institutional" thread a number of times as the apparent simplicity of the approach really appeals to me. I say apparent as sometimes I can see how you derive the zones drawn on charts you post, I sometimes miss why you place them where you do.

Are there any additional suggestions or "rules" you can offer in relation to identifying these Zones?

    Many thanks

    Rick

  2. Tradewinds, You are probably aware of this, but just in case.. The S & P is a weighted index and the top 50 stocks comprise approx 50% of the index by weigh. While its old see tx-0.org: Index Component Weights of Stocks in the S&P 500 for a general idea. Basket activity in these 50 stocks may not move the NYSE Tick much, but will sure move the index and so ES. Of course the opposite also applies. Cheers
  3. UB, I find most of your posts interesting and thought provoking - thank you for continuing to present your different views here. One aspect of what your various posted charts show remains a puzzle for me - perhaps you can shed some light on the following..... For the many examples where you show spikes in Trade Intensity, they are normally on 1000 Share Bars and the spike builds/peaks/declines over 4 to 6 bars or so. Even if the active commercial was responsible for almost all activity within those bars, they would still only accumulate perhaps 4000 or so contracts during the spike. Even allowing for pre-spike accumulation I would have thought in order to expend the capital necessary to subsequently move the market in their favor, the commercial would require a much larger inventory than your indicator suggests they grab at these key times. Since you also point out supporting divergence on your Net New indicator, the implication is less rather then more is being accumulated at these times. Are you able to provide some additional comments on this? Thanks
  4. Hi UB, Yes, I do use the same name, although I use the forum for support only... I did try to send a much longer reply via PM but was blocked (not enough posts on my part) Cheers
  5. Hello UB, I dont often visit or post to forums (except NinjaTrader) so when I was bounced into TL and came across your threads a couple of days ago I was amazed and like many others intrigued by your material, views and approach. I have spent many hours reading and re-reading what you have written and there is much to think about... Anyway - I thought I would start a thread to say THANKYOU for all you have contributed - and for persisting in the early days when a few word slingers were firing off at you. As someone who has attempted to apply many types volume analysis to trading, I see that the new ideas and techiques you utilise would offer a lot to those that can (in part) decode what you have been saying. Thankyou again...
