Re: Trading Platforms for Mac?

I am a MAC user too. In order for a platform to work on MAC, it has to be written for mac. There is a process that I believe called "parallel" that could work for some users. Some of those programs include:
  • • Parallels Desktop for Mac • VMware Fusion • Apple Boot Camp

However, the strength of NinjaTrader is in its low latency data. For example, Rithmic as a data feed for NinjaTrader provides superior execution and stability. Both are written for Windows and should be operated as such. Running these on "parallels" could potentially slow down your execution and data. I am a BIG NinjaTrader fan, and I run it on Windows because I dont want to make experiments with execution.
Maybe as the community of MAC users grow, all platforms could run on both.

Ha ha, they have enough trouble making it work on windows let alone Mac OS! One thing is for sure, large portions need a re-write.

No slow down with bootcamp. Since Apple started using intel processors you can boot windows natively on their hardware. My day to day trading computer is a MacBook Pro laptop running windows.

Re: Trading Platforms for Mac?

I am going to agree with those who say they use TOS on their MACS. I also believe there are several web clients like Turbo trader that you could consider, but of course, web clients are not as good.

I use a netbook for my DOM. For me it's perfect.
