(MC/Easylanguage) Multiple Positions in the Same Direction

Recommended Posts

Hi!!

I'd like to open multiple positions in the same direction. Lets say like this:

if date › 1130903 then begin
SellShort ("short1") N Contracts next bar at open;
SellShort ("short2") N Contracts next bar at open;
end;

N - Number of contracts

It should sell short at the second bar and at the third bar of the day. But it sells short at second bar only. Why ist that?

In the ELHelp is an example:

Buy("My1stBuy") Next Bar 200 Shares at Market;
Buy("My2ndBuy") Next Bar 100 Shares at High Stop;

Its the same but it does not work for me... :(

Thanks a lot for your help!

Ok, i got it. One has to enable multiple Positions in the same direction in the strategy properties...

:roll eyes:

Hi,

Yes, you do indeed - one of those little TS quirks!

You would do well to spend some time exploring all the aspects of the strategy properties box, especially those relating to the way in which the software simulates order fills.

Regards,
