    The Australian band "Skyhooks" features today.

     

    The lead singer, Graeme "Shirley" Strachan died prematurely in a tragic helicopter accident, in August 2001. Not known in the rest of the world - they had a number of #1 hits here.     1. People with minivans - It's been proven that people with minivans have to many things to do, and can't become totally obsessed with the study of trading.
    2. People who like watching court television shows - People who like watching Judge Judy have been studied, and it's been proven that their brains have atrophied.
    3. People with degrees in Political Science - People with degrees in Political Science have been proven to not be able to deal with real world situations, and can never face the real solution.
    4. Former World Wrestling Federation (WWF) champions - They smash their computer equipment.

     

     

    People who are most likely to succeed at trading:

     

    1. Nudest - They have no fear of things that are immaterial to trading.
    2. Circus Performers - They know how to deal with risk

    Ingot i saw with the google satellite!!! wow you and your family lived in one of the most beatiful place in the world !!you lived in cairn the great barrier reef ,one friend that worked for an italian flight company said me that cairn is the more beatiful great barrier reef in the world !

    You surelly have what we called a great quality of life,no stress,nature,beatiful sea and surelly have a political correct government better than ours.me too liked US and also in italy we had habith that the things happen 15 years later....we can saw underline some details of this in some movie,example when i was child and in a movie seen a scene were in USA in a supermarket the cash had the poss and bar-code...here in italy arrived after 10-15 years.nice the poem i like very much ...so lovely the angel ...

    I understand why it might upset you somewhat if someone were to insinuate that women are somehow inferior traders, but don't you think it might be an important idea to explore? On a purely prejudiced level, I think the question has little relevance, but from an intellectual standpoint it's a good question. The way women are naturally and the way women develop based on environmental interactions is clearly very different to men. There must be some useful studies out there on this that actually could help us all to better understand ourselves as traders.

     

     

    yes could be an important idea to explored ... but only because are 5 on 1000 women try to become a trader or simply studied this topic or inly for passion for financial markets.for me its the same comparison..to the women that try to run in F1 .they ..are a number very very less than a men ..it's only a minority factor..and isn't neither a speech of excellent matematic mind because there are many woman with a excellent matematic mind.I 'm only very angry with who generalize(and if you go away with the posts you can saw that who opened this trhead again continued to generalize the debate.very,very banal )why said woman are bored in trading......depends in that way they trade.if i work with a more big rest,maybe is different...but if i made scalping ...i'm not bored.but that i must read that woman can't trade is ridicolus.i trade for myself i used my money(but is more the time that i observe and study the market) and i never hear that there are so many man that give a chance for trade for other people.another banal thing is the woman with balls trade with more qualtity.......i will say ....the woman and the man if had a big quantity of money to invest in financial market maybe trade with more quantity because the pain if they lose is less.for the simple way that who had less money if lose all the day after don't can trade the magnate the day after can begining a new day ...for trade.

    First the women had ever worked hard more of man because we further works had family childs and all concern the house family organization.but in trading i don't care that is a sexual or demographic factor,all know that the 90% of traders are looser.maybe.its hard fight whit who made the market. after come the istitutional world and banks and we know the rest 5%that win because applied to trading pshichological ,technical and fundamental path and respect for him/herself and other.without care to discriminate none to apart for gender,age or other.second the profitable trader are more humble and its very difficult that wrote in a forum ,i'm strong i'm very profitable,and i'm the unic bla bla bla.

    I huge part of the answer to our individual problems, and our collective problems is to respect ourselves. It might seem that people would automatically respect themselves, out of self interest. But in reality, people are self destructive, and really show very little respect for themselves. The type of respect that I'm talking about isn't superficial, material, or socially status related. Those things do not get at the very core or who and what a person is.

     

    I know that I am extremely harsh and dark in my outlook of the human condition. But I don't want people to misunderstand. Even though I see the terrible dark side, I don't want to be on the dark side. I prefer to look in the mirror and give myself value and respect, and hope for the best, for myself and for this world as a whole.

     

    great thought:),today.you are right the light is superior .the dark side is usefull sometime only for discovered in ourself the other side,of limpid and clear thought.and maybe you can go on this side when you feel like a depression or a evil side that disturb your path,if you decide to include in your side also the spiritual way.the respect for ourself is to be awareness that our thoght and our action is good for us and successively can be usefull and good also for other people.;)

    Ahimsa - I understand what you are saying. It does seem that for as long as people want to do good, and continue doing good things, there will be evil people who will exploit their goodness.

     

    I mentioned earlier that what is required is a spiritual awakening - not a religious one. Religion is a dead pursuit - ritual and chants never achieved anything.

     

    It is in the depth of the human mind and soul that change has to occur - in the regeneration of the spirit and the conscience. We need a new image of ourselves and our status in the world. And we need new role models worth looking up to.

     

    We need new heroes.

     

    Human beings have degraded themselves for so long, that they believe that's all there is - there is nothing higher to aspire to. Some believe all we are here for is to enjoy what we can and then wither like a flower, and be blown away by the wind.

     

    Yet the highest satisfaction in life has always come from helping people to higher levels of achievement, and helping to ease the burden of fellow travelers. Those whose only goal is to become wealthy, no matter what the cost, or what it takes, are destined to be amongst the least satisfied with their lives.

     

    All I can say to you is to never let go of your values. You might get scorned for them, or derided for taking a stand on an issue of integrity or ethics. But neither you, not I have the high ground on ethics, morality and integrity. This is a community consciousness, and it is this that we all need to have an awareness of our values and our worth. Communities are made up of individuals, families and neighborhoods.

     

    So the work does indeed begin in the mirror each morning, as you "rub your face."

     

    Unfortunately, that is what is largely missing now. And equally unfortunately, this is not being taught to kids anywhere much, so there is a decreasing number of people who even understand norms and mores. And very few follow their conscience.

     

    The world pressures people in many ways - but fortunate indeed is the man who knows himself.

     

    Ingot thanks for this answer i like very much,yesterday i was not aware it.:)i'm not a big religious,i never thought that if i go in church every day i' will have better life.also if i have religious holy see friend.i believe in god but i'm a sinner because i never went to church,me too prefer the regeneration of our spirit,and the awareness that we fundamentally born pure and without evil,is the life that change us.the big work that everyone of us have is mantain pure our action,thought,and live our life with love for ourself and consequence,for other.But we live in a time were the our mirror(unfortunately for us are the tv and other media,that the only things that they be able to transmit me in this moment,is the hate and the falsity of their value,maybe its for this that are 1 year that i don't watch tv)are the media,they reflect,the character and the frustation of the majority,of us.For many people to be strong means to be able to derides other and to be offensive,this kind of manners you can denote in many social network,or other forum were people without know you and your TRUE story,hear them in right to talk about you,also in a offensive way.for their are a form to discharge their repression.(if i really must hate someone i prefer discharge my hate on a pedophily or in a big criminal,can really can destroyed your life)they hear be strong in this way,they know that for have more friends and maybe also a success,are costritted to trample on theirself ,they are full unawareness that in that way they been changing their true indole.But what is more terrificant that to discovered that all the pshichological problem that they have are those inherent to the other social relation.they really hate who is just arrived to considered important spiritual tought,are unawareness that maybe is the only salvation for this epoc so full of stress ,hi-tech and run to money.     I just mean in general ...just more of a observation that the only people who have money to buy *create* the low and then they make the majority of the upside. who has money to buy when everything appears to be going to hell? the rich of course! so its a vicious cycle of the rich getting richer ...

     

    no comments on the wealthiest counties being right by DC? coincidence?

     

    I don't know this counties,in US i have some friends and relation but not in this counties in los angeles and phoenix.but i can say that also in italy we have many counties were the rich getting richer,and always there aren't the townsman,this because in little town the quality of life is better than in a big metropolis,were the townsman are habit to fight with all the inconvenient...stress.traffic,overpopulated,bad law.bad sanity...and the problem that a big city and his government can have.I think if all the people that can choice were live .choice a town or a counties were the life is better,were the hate is less.where the respect for people is bigger.i understand this from your words ,i hope to don't misrepresent....the other concept...for the rich getting richer in trading because he can permit to trade with the strong hands and move the market its another thing.for me.please correct me if i misrepresent,i don't know the story of these counties.right by the DC(dc is an abbreviation of ?)thanks in advance.

    I use a 1 minute chart for entry, 5 for "2 day" view, and have 15m, 60m, and 240m up for larger views, I just showed the 60m because it gives a nice view of the last couple of weeks.

     

    oh ,maybe i misrepresent,i understand that you used ever 60m chart for trade oil,yes infact to 60m you have a better view to the whole period ,i used ever 4h 1d for look better,not only for oil,and effectively the visual of the whole trend is better.wow 1m chart for oil....is like go on russian mountain!:)

    Perhaps it's too long gone, but I would love to revive this thread again :-) Any takers?

     

    Here's my current chart setup on the 60m. My plan was to long 111, but with the big drop down with heavy momentum and going all the way down 30 ticks below the area on my chart, I was a little bit afraid to go long after we came back above 111. I tried a short as the pictures show, but was fished before the move down... tested yesterday's high to the tick, and I was unsure of the direction at that point.

     

     

    Maybe it's better that crude go away in fall.down...his price was further like some year ago that arrived to 140$ you had a good support near 110..maybe..you used stop.loss too much tight ,for a chart set up 60 m ....try to 15 m in crude,itìs a bit cardio-danger,but you can scalp it ;) better.

    One reason for the growing income inequality in the United States is the relationship between the government and private corporations. This is hard to deny, especially with a simple look at the richest counties in the U.S. Of the top 10, five are located in the D.C. area - with four of them in the top 5.

     

    But, there's another way that the rich get richer - it's recessions. This might seem kind of strange, but think about it a little more. When the market bottoms out, what happens? Someone buys at the bottom to lend support to that level.

     

    Who is that someone? Well, let's understand who it isn't. The middle-class guy with a $100,000 underwater mortgage isn't buying. The guy who lost half his retirement is probably too scared to enter the market. The guy whose employer may be downsizing isn't jumping back in. The middle-class Joe has a million good reasons to avoid the bottom of the market.

     

    It's pretty clear who buys at the bottom - it's the rich. And when the market rebounds, they're earning a very high return. The average guy always misses the rebound and jumps back into the market when the upside is limited, but the folks with excess cash come back earlier and earn the higher returns. As a result, the gap between the groups grows larger.

    HI mad market scientist,i'm a bit confused:confused:,do you talked about in general ,as in stock as in forex?do you mean (if i don't misrepresent)that when there are the recession the rich really get richer because put his money in finance markets,also after recession he will invest in commercial activity,while the middle class or the poor further for fear he will be impossibilitate in recession to jump in the market because he don't have money.but is also true that for example in crude oil we are almost like some years ago whit the crude to 140$ many expensive....i would like to throw the coin in short...::):confused:

    This is what I call Orphan or the automatic reactive patterning of the limbic systen as it triggers to threat matches in present time from past threats. In mindfulness training, the trader begins to separate the fusion of identity (the "I" you speak of) between the Orphan and the Observer within the streams of thought that show up in mind.

     

    There is no final self on the horizon, only a current organization of the self. This is what I call Orphan taking over the Internal Dialog. What I encourage people to do is to bring into awareness what I call the Compassionate Warrior as part of the narrative being constructed about self in the mind. Compassion is what heals the wounds of the Orphan, not beating yourself up as so many traders do. The discipline and courage of the warrior is that part of the self that is called into the story of the self to both contain the reactiveness of the Orphan and to move beyond notions of fairness and onward toward a disciplined and impartial organization of the self that can trade effectively. It is surely as much a part of you as the Orphan. What matters is the emotional regulation of your Orphan nature and direction of your awareness to the discipline, patience, courage, and impartiality that also live within you. The Orphan learns that it is safe and allows the developing inner trader to take possession of the mind.

     

    Good luck. I honor your courage to expose your vulnerability. It's a good way for others to see and learn from the internal struggle within all of us. It is this struggle among the forces within the self that must be mastered both in trading and in life.

    Hello Rande ever a honour have something to ask you! i would like understand better your concept.you want say that if exemple i was'nt angry in past for an abuse,(or i must put in condition to aren't angry)i become angry and revengeful.yes maybe but if the child don't have respect of law because considered it like the first guilty,how can will become revengeful?,and if one time he become big and awareness that he/she never seek revenge.a bit for fear,a bit for lose the respect for justice or what must being justice.you don't think that he could let it be so the things without seeking justice.i ask this because also like a female many time seems to me to receive a bit of violence only for wrote or to voice some concept,if you know how is the name of this period.?

    Exactly right. The only way the U.S. can come up with the money to pay it's debts is to print money. Most people believe that printing loads of money with no real backing, will devalue the dollar, and also cause inflation. I'm not so sure of that myself, but I have nothing to really base that on. Inflation is partly being caused by higher oil prices.

     

    eThe real problem is human behavior. We are our own worst enmy.

     

    pshicologically true that we are our worst enemy.but really do you think that we haven't enemy,or is a double effect of what we saw at the mirror,if i don't saw enemy when i look at myself in the mirror ,i would love see ever an allied.i would love to think so,but i believe that we are in a very particular and delicate moment history,for start a war you need an enemy and even with a enemy you have to have a reason.please help and explane better because we are living in a greed epoch,and what we needed is the union and the help that everyone can give.we are in a bad moment but look at the past of our story-books .we have always had big mind in past but the bad mind had ever destroyed the good work and thought of good.there's ever some angel in the world that talk to people,and have all the quality to be in right side.my big question is why the evil its so sure to be in right side like the good? and maybe the true greed is being awareness that for save the world we must violate our way of see the things,and stopped to be so less humble.but by now our mind are programmed in that stupid and banal way that the only and first tought when we wake up in the morning are ....who can i rub today..well if we are our worst enemy ...we must start to say ....good morning and while we clean our face ...we can look at the mirror and say i'm my enemy...well this morning i rub myself.a good way for go away in a better world,with better thought.i'm not so agree,that put trading in top position when there are this kind of topic.the human-salvation depend of us .from how we think and how we transform in action our thought.because if we don't finished to be so agree like on sentiment,we can finished to be agree in trading?I'm very tired that in 2011,there are again the problem of the human trafficking of the women for the sex industry,or the human trafficking of illegal body part.this aren't a valid reason's for made a war?yes if the women are against.not if they are consent.in this moment i don't care so much to north american currency union.

    Lapalisse the war is ever stupid .

    Today i'm looking for the Folco Terzani interview ,Tiziano Terzani son's,and i stopped to read some tought of his father.He said.that an terrible and epocal event like 11 september offer to us occidental,to rethink to our future.he compared the after 11 september like a bit of time that slip away from a flash lightning to the rumble of thunder.we are living in this bit of time,there was the terrible flash lightning(11 september twin towers).The big boom will arrive and could be sweep away.it's would be better that we equipe us for this.begining from our daily life,after this event it's impossible and would be also a shame to be like before.We must take in consideration that peace is the only option.no more war,war is never solution is the causes of other wars.its impossible to win terrorism without know of his reasons,and the rethinking,of the occidental globalization.I think that this man( apart for one thing),had ever in his life good thought.If is true that this era will be destroyed,for the earthquakes(like every era was been victim of some climatic events)we must think this.THE MAN IS THE ONLY OPTION THE RECOVER OF HIS DIMENSION,IN EQUILIBRIUM WHIT THE PLANETH THAT GIVE US OSPITALITY.THIS ARE AGAIN DAYS WHERE IS POSSIBLE TO DO IT.THE JOURNEY IS LONG.THE BEGINING IS INSIDE US.This is a concept that made me think a lot this afternoon,because if it's true that the US economy is corrupted like his country(do you think that in other country is all rose and flowers,?is all clear,?no )the us economy is very important for the rest of world his currency,and all his stocks influenced the world economyin europe we have the problem with greece portugal,ireland,pain in usa you have the USD no strong now,USA economy would be ever more strong because people buy in USD not in EUR ,china is too much time by now that began his steps for become the world largest economy,what stopped china for being the first power now?,i think only his currency.If it's true that when we trade we must considered us like a mirror,for the simple fact that when we start to make an action we can become the mirror of what the mass done.This tought are good for real life because the action that we make in our life was been ever the consequence of the true life.from ghandi to hitler,is like an a gears were the man falls.WHY in forex its not important what we think?or better our thought,agree,desperation or happyness can influenced a gain or a loss.but the market don't care what really we think.is like a machine,from a side he teach us that the pshichological factor is essential,and from the other don't care.i think that maybe i can become crazy,for this,the only thought that make me clear,its that we are the consequence of our action as in life as in trading (i talk about forex because in this moment i'm here).

    We're getting into a weird area here.:confused:

    I am not sure what the silent internal dialog is except that it is habitually reverting me into a negative state.

     

    Although, I am feeling more confident and good lately about the opportunities I see. (trade what you see, not what you think)

     

    Because my internal dialog is coming from my sub-conscious mind (the holder of core beliefs, and habits), and I have rationalized a new belief associated with what I "see" play out in the present, I need to act as if the new belief is my core belief and habit. What is needed to test the new belief, and validate its truth with repeated action resulting in overall winning. Only then will this new belief become a core belief replacing the old doubtful core belief. I think I can to this within four trades, but like... I have been diagnosed with major depression a couple years ago. So, I have been in groups, and one question from somebody that was not sufficiently answered was, "But, why is it so hard to be positive" I no longer have any problem with depression (or I don't believe I do), and after recovering, I feel I can answer the question better than the groups supervising psychologist. Analogous to the question from the gentleman about depression, I am asking myself, "Why is it so hard to pull the trigger"

     

    Even though my trades are not reflecting improvement, I feel that I am on top of a big change. A change that will affect all areas of my life.

    Other than this understanding, I may have to talk with you. If another week goes by without making trades ...

    If your internal dialog put you in a condition of reverting negative state.maybe you had just only wrong the way to talk with yourself,if you haven't neither kind of depression problem,now,because maybe you had just resolved these with group terapy.(if i don't misrepresent).You must go forward now in your trading path,not come back.(if you had resolve it).I think (but look....maybe .. i could wrong )....that its so difficult to being positive,because the question point is only a energy speech,we needed to left out all the negative energive we don't needed to absorbe it.we must work only with the positive energy.you can help you also with yoga exercise,other sports and also spiritual path that raise you and put you in a superior state of pure awareness ,that help you to free one's mind to all darkness,this is the problem that obscure our minds and don't let us free to have a good gain.if we don't trasform in action the good purpose, words,and the good thougt we never will have good trade.:)

    Surelly.i only take for example who begining his career inside an istitutional world,sure for who started alone or in a little sim will be more able and would have less fear to trade with OPM.

    Tradewinds you have the same my thought,i ever thought that if a trader work whit OPM like an istitutional traders he have surelly less fear.long life and no stress.And successively he can aquire a good security for personal trade.?,I think that for this traders is a vantage to begining to trade inside a istitutional world confront a trader who works alone or in a small group,but i think also that have more turn up.psychologically they can form or a big self-control and security to operate or sudden if for example they for some reason stop to work here and decide to trade alone can started after many time a fear path because they must trade with own money.in any way the fear before or later we'll meet .better don't have fear to the fear,because otherwise can become a internal fight with our problem,anxiety,weakness,and we don't needed of this..
