  1. Has anyone got another link or has anybody ripped this at all? The link ain't working for me. Cheers
  2. I just want to add to what smwinc said before. VSA, MP, Moving averages, RSI, Candlestick patterns ect ect to me are like different types of martial arts. Each one having its own unique philosophy on how to attack and defend. Who’s the better fighter, Bruce Lee or Jet Li? Both practiced different forms of martial arts but both of them could be considered great martial artists. What does this tell you? Well it tells me that it’s the practitioners’ ability to use the tools available to him/her that will determine his/her success. The martial art isn’t the most important thing, what matters is have you put in the time and the effort to perfect your technique? The point is that people like Bruce or Jet could have studied any martial art and they still would have ended up as martial arts legends. By the same token had Paul Tudor Jones dveoted his life to candlestick pattern analysis he would have stilll ended up as one of the best fund managers of all time. This thread reminds me of an interview with the greatest chess player of all time, Gary Kasparov. The interviewer asked him, “Which is your favourite piece”? Garry replied: “I don’t have a favourite piece, I believe in all the pieces, from the pawn all the way up to the king”. I think this is what separates the pro’s from the amateurs. IMHO I think having a discussion about whether VSA works or not is a waste of time. I’m sorry to sound blunt but I think discussions like these will not help anyone. Just because somebody can’t get a particular method to work doesn’t mean it’s crock. All it’s telling you is that this particular trading methodology doesn’t suit you as an individual. Peace…
  3. I'd never trade without an MP chart. It's too valuable to leave out of your arsenal IMHO. But everyone has their own style I suppose. Peace
  4. Ouch! That's most unfortunate indeed. Did he delete them from his computer by accident? I have some strong programms that help recover lost or accidentally deleted files if you're interested. Cheers.
  5. Hi Great work everyone. Just one thing. In the "Chart Examples Part 1" section I can't see most of the charts that PP is reffering to. There is just a small X where the pic should be. I can see some of the other charts. My security settings for IE are on low. I'm having to picture what PP is talking about in my head lol! Thanks.
  6. Hi Darren, I use odd time intervals such as 7 minute charts to see if I can get an edge in some way. However, when price approaches pivot, S/R, PDH, PDL, POC, VAH and VAL levels I mainly jump down to a 1 minute chart and start using VSA for entry points. I’m still learning and in the early stages of developing a system combining both MP and VSA techniques. I’ve been following the FTSE 100 Futures market for nearly a year. I noticed your trade that you posted in December with the 12pm BOE spike that stopped you out by 0.5 pt. It made me chuckle because I remember that day very well. I was actually long in the futures market prior to the announcement and tried to close my position when it busted through the 6600 level. I knew I was in trouble as soon as I saw the market going crazy above the 6600 level. Anyway, let’s just say I got impaled on that spike! lol I stay out of important announcement days now. It feels like gambling if I’m in a position prior to an important announcement. And I hate gambling! Btw, has anyone managed to merge MP and VSA techniques together apart from SoulTrader? If so, what results are you getting? SoulTrader, do you have anymore setups that we can have a look at with your MP and VSA combo? Your work is great! Thanks. Naeem
  7. Hi Everyone, Mr Noob here so please bear with me. I've read this thread from the start. I've read both "Master the Markets" and "The Undeclared Secrets That Drive Stock Market" by Tom Williams. Both are excllent books, (even though they are nearly the same). I think it's probably the best method to trade stocks or futures that I've ever come accross because it's a very direct approach to taking advantage of what make prices go up or down, (the imbalance between supply and demand) Now I mainly trade the FTSE 100 Futures contract listed on the Liffe exchange from a 7 minute chart. I follow the cash market closely. Tom Williams states that if you're going to trade futures based on Indexes you must follow what the cash market is doing before jumping into the futures market. The only probelm I have is that Interactive brokers do not provide realtime volume information for the FTSE 100 cash market. How is one to trade intraday using Tom Williams' methods if you do not have access to realtime parent index volume information? Do you simply ignore the cash market all together and use the volume in the futures market as the guide? If so, aren't you trading contrary to what Tom has espoused in his writings on VSA? Great thread btw guys! Thanks. Peace...
  8. Hey Thanks for the advice everyone. Really appreciate the input here. Having delved into J-Charts further I've come to the conclusion that in the end it's just another version of Market Profile. One of the main reasons I was attracted to J-Charts was because I thought it may offer something completely unique together with the fact that not many people had heard of it. I've decided to go down the Market Profile path and I'm currently reading Markets in Profile by James F. Dalton et al. I know, I've done it the wrong way round, I've ordered Mind over Markets now  I've read Steidlmayer On Markets-Trading with Mkt Profile. This was the first book I read on Market Profile. Probably not the best one because I was finding it difficult to get the nuts and bolts of the method. Not an easy road ahead but anything worthwhile is never easy. Cheers Peace...
  9. Hi Momentom, Interesting.. I am looking to commite to either Market profile or J-Chart. They seem similar. What did you find appealing about J-Chart? Did you find any significant differences between J-Chart and Market profile? Thanks. Peace..
  10. Hi everyone, I'm the latest noob to arrive on the block. I have to say wow! What a website. I hate giving out complements but I truly believe everyone here is doing a fantastic job. I've learnt so much so quickly. Thanks to all the mods for running such a great site :applaud: My first question: Does anyone use J-Chart analysis? http://www.j-chart.com/ I've found it to be very interesting and thought I'd get the opinion of fellow traders. I'm thinking of furthering my education in this field with these guys: http://www.jchartwiki.com Has anyone used these guys before and if so was it worth the money? Thanks. Peace.... :thumbs up:
