  1. When a Linked Exchange Rate System is implemented, there is usually little that is done to alter the exchange rate. There are differences with these systems and currency pegs, however, as there are reserve requirements in holding the domestic currency in the foreign banks.
  2. The Forward Premium is measured by finding the differences in the values of the spot exchange rate and the forward rate.
  3. An Exchange Rate is the amount of currency it would take to buy one unit of another currency. In forex pairs, a higher value in a currency such as the USD will equate to a lower value in a currency such as the Yen.
  4. Dual Exchange Rates rates are relatively rare and are usually seen when large economic shocks are present in a country, creating the need for currency fluctuation for smaller purchases.
  5. Conversion rates are best shown in example form. If the EUR/USD is trading at 1.35, the conversion rate is 1.35, as it will take 1.35 US Dollars to buy one Euro.It should be remembered, however, that conversion rates are always changing as markets are constantly redefining the value of currency relationships.
