  1. Hey EZ, What is your modem's model, number?? If you have it handy, thanks
  2. Hello EZ trader. thanks for the info.. My deal is that I travel to the Fla. Keys for about 1 month a year. I never know where I will be staying and not many rentals even have phones let alone high speed Int. Once I'm there and set up, mobility is no prob so ext. modem power or extra ant. is OK. I was thinking about Verizons " Day Pass " service. Thats where you buy the modem and they will sell you air time for 9.99 a day . So if I'm out fishing I don't logon that day. Bad weather I trade. Good weather I fish. The wind can blow for weeks at a time down there. Take care and Kudo's R.J.
  3. Hi all, I was wondering if it is feasable to use my laptop to trade live, and fast, stocks & futures markets using a mobile broadband USB Modem. This is of course for traveling. willI run into large data fees? The provider_ Verizon_ does not have a clue. I really only need to run 2 or 3 symbols at a time. I quess a big stock or the ES would stream a lot of data. The service is set up for 5 GIG a month. Thanks RJ
  4. I know this thread is old but this is how I approach it. What I do is to start the day with my eye on what I feel I should make to pay expenses and maintain lifestyle. That said I use price action to tell me when to exit trades. If it's goin my way I hold ,,but ,, if it starts to fail ,,I'm gone.. I use 4Eminis and am willing to take as little as 4 to 8 ticks. The scaling in and out thing is good for some but in a fast market it breaks my consentration. Of course more is better but if it starts to falter i'm gone. After I gain that "Basic Pay" I will start to play for more, meaning that if I have 16 ticks on a trade I must take it. After doubling the "Basic" I will go for the long ball with a trailer but it is still hard to watch profits disapear. However I must say rarely do they go out of the park . This way I keep my head straight because I'm making money and still get a nice one maybe twice a week. This also helps me cause I tend to over trade late in the day, R.J
  5. Yes, it's kind of like the frog in the water who's temp keeps rising . He does not jump till it's too late. Perfect example yest. On the esu08 I did well from 11 am till 3 pm . The market changed course but I just did not get it .Even though the charts were oozing clues:doh: Hence I was late on the last move. I guess when I have something working well I resist changing directions now and again. Could this be some kind of subconscious JuJu ??
  6. The Tipping Point, A Traders Observation There seems to be a point in the trading day, or even more than one where things change rapidly. I call it my tipping point. No that’s not just before you leave the restaurant. The stress of prolonged high levels of concentration have their effect. I could blame the vulgarities of the market but the real culprit seems to be the ability of prices to suck you into loosing focus of the larger picture. Some times I will have a profit on a trade and hold on for 1 more tick and next thing you know it‘s GONE. What’s Worse , I would have made my daily goal. It seems like when you insist on the market meeting your requirements , you loose. Thankfully things can go the other way too. You start picking them off like ripe apples and life is good. Stops stay safe and targets are hit. How sweet it is. Of course that Tipping Point can apply to not just to a days trading but to the week ,the month, even to an entire career. The whole Point here is developing the ability to spot this critical juncture and make the necessary adjustments. Any comments ?????
