I came from a poker background as well. The only difference is... the market is always right. So you can't exactly bully or take advantage of weaker players. Which makes self psychology more important than anything.
But everything else in poker is similar... figuring out your own style, waiting for your "setups", money management, managing emotions/tilt...

little to no math at all. I find the psychological part about yourself is the most difficult to realize and overcome.

Are you trading long-term? You could just use freestockcharts.com. If you need it for day-trading, then thinkorswim is a good start.

I'm new to the forum also. Welcome!! I am a young college student who is trying to learn as much as possible, from anyone that is willing to teach. I currently subscribe to the Fundamental Analysis Long-Term approach because that is what I have been taught, however my mind is open and clear to other ideas.I started trading in college too! Don't underestimate the your own psychology. That was my biggest problem.

I honestly do not think you should spend too much money on seminars and what not. It is better to spend your time and money on the market. Screen time is what you need.
