  1. thanks EasyTrader_I and statsign !!!

I first try EasyTrader_I suggestion , and it worked OK in backtested chart

however when I start playback in multichart ..it didnt work

maybe this is some kind of multichart bug ..

than I try statsign version ..but I wasn't able to make it work at all even on bactested chart

not sure what docount var do ?

  2. your question is strange

Close of the bar can be included in each minimun price movement ,lenght is the size of the bar

I am not Easy language expert ...and I am not sure if this can be coded at all

but if you can drop few lines as a I will be grateful

  3. ah ..ok :)

most important is you understand what I mean

so we can guess at what price bar will be closed since we have open, high, low of that bar and we know size of bar

so ...question is ...is anyone know how to code this ?

  4. why do you think it cant be predicted

if you use range bar ..let say 4 tick range ..and it opens at 100

he can be closed at 104or 96

and if open 100 and go down 1 tick at 99..than it can be only closed at 103 ( if it goes up again ) or 96 ...etc ...

so bar closing can be predicted because you know how big is bar and you have open price

  5. yes I am talking about range bars

and I want use stop order for entry to position ..not exit

so I have system that generates market orders on bar close

and I want send stop order ( entry ) at bar price clse price ..before bar is closed

if bar newer close at that price ( if goes other way ) order will not be executed

that way, I will save some time and probably get better fill and cut slippage

  6. I have similar problem

and I understand that on time bars you cant do anything, becauase bar must be closed

but I was thinking ...if I use range bars

and range bars close price can be predicted ...I was thinking

how can I send stop order to broker at bar close price before bar is closed

this way I maybe I can get better fill because broker alredy have my stop ( market ) order

  7. brownsfan

  8. Alright, back to blotters and the day at hand. Feel free to take all side stuff over to Thales' thread since he graciously offered to take it there. ;)

I guess Mon was slow all around as I didn't do much either. It got so slow I just shut it down, so nothing on Monday.

Today was a bit better, particularly on oil:

    10/6/09: +$755

As a side note, the ZN has been slow the last few trading days. It's really irritating me...

I also trading oil, and I must admit that your first oil trade was very risky from my point of view ...

I understand your entry setup ..but why did you hold it so long ?

what gives you confidence to hold it ?

and exit ..does you look on R1 ( ressistance 1 ).or something else

second setup I also take ..that was easy one

anyway you get :applaud: from me today

I asume this was your trades for today

  9.

Look into a 1:2 ratio of stop to target, this way if you are making sound trading decisions you will win more often than lose, give your stop enough room though.

    Hope it helps

did I get you right ..you recommend wider stops than targets or oposite

  10. as I say before ..I am trying not trade this days since I moving to another location

but still make one or two trade ..so I can feel market

    btw ..brownsfan ..I admire you

    you are great trader ...

If I have such intraday loss...it will be very hard to trade and make rebound ..

anyway I see you stay focused and didnt lost your mind
