What is This???

This is really weird - I'm not sure why I'm feeling like this. Perhaps someone who's experienced can help me out.

Watching the index futures trade at 3 in the morning on Monday (6/28) made my gut wrench telling me to go short. I had just prematurely exited (stop triggered) a short position in the indices from a couple of days ago. Not sure if that was the reason, but I couldn't bring myself to re-enter and go short, even though my TA (and gut) was telling me to.

Here's the problem: I continue to feel this in my gut although I don't have any open positions!!! Has anyone gone through something similar? If you did, what was your experience? Thanks for your help!

Re: What is This???

Well, imagine a lot of our guts are turning over of late as this market is starting to feel like one that could tank badly especially if there is another small rally - seems like everytime it gets off the mat it gets slammed.

So maybe you're sensing the collective fear of the double dip.

Anyway, unfortunately for me when I trade off of "feel" I usually end up opening my wallet up to the person on the other side of the trade and the broker. They tend to usually be happy about my gut trading system.....

Past experience - when constantly ignoring the gut but wanting to follow it, usually results in you finally following it at the worst possible time.

Review why - does it fit your system etc;
Walk away for a while, or really focus on where you are looking to enter.
Had to say unless you really know your system. This may be the time to review it.
