Re: The Race

Just caught up with your contest, and am trying to wrap my head around it. In particular,
Code:
2) the winner must use a portion of the winnings to provide transportation, hotel, and dinners for 3-5 days for each of the participants at a venue of the winner's choosing.
. Since new entrants are accepted at any time, what's to stop several from signing up just before the winner reaches the goal? Guess you'll cross that bridge should any of us approach it...

By way of convincing us of the possibility of accomplishing this, I submit the following How I Turned 1k To 100k In A Wk!!! @ Forex Factory

Got a problem with a contestant "shifting gears", transferring funds from a min-FX account into a regular one once the account balance grows to that point?

Thanks.

Re: The Race

Migraine still with me no trades today but here is from yesterday. Sorry for the late post, but I have really been sick.

Yesterday all I could muster were some very quick scalps after the FOMC.

Hope you get better. I don't get migraines but I do have severe TMJ, which results in headaches, neck and shoulder pain among other things. Had a nasty headache this am, but it went away with enough Advil. I should have stayed in bed as well, my system this week is like watching paint dry. If I wasn't in this contest I would have probably screwed around a bit in this account. Hoping for a few more trades within the next 24 hours.

Re: The Race

glitch in the software made me lose my mind so i proceeded to blow my days wad ($200) in about 15 mins.

note to self: when things go haywire - stay calm and make rationale decisions. I was long CL at 8492 and my platform went bananas on me - I called my broker and asked where I was and he informed me that my position was positive. Without looking at a chart I said flatten me - which he kindly did for a 1 tick loss at 8491. If you were watching crude this morning you know that 8491 WAS the swing low before taking off to 8547. After seeing that what I did next was inexcusable and if I do it much I will be out of this race in no time.

I can take something positive away from the day - I quit when I hit my daily loss limit. So I can come out and play tomorrow!

So if you get to $2600 even, and then you add the second contract, how much do you have to lose to reduce yourself back to one contract? You said your broker requires $900 daytrade margin for fx futures, so theoretically you could add a second contract once your equity rises above $1800. Is $1800 the line beneath which you will reduce your size because you are forced to do so by the broker, or would you reduce your size at a level somewhere between $1800 and $2600, and if so, what would that level be?

Best Wishes,

Thales

The object of The Race is to generate 1,000,000 in profits. Therefore, when calculating my progress toward the goal, I do not include my initial stake, only the profits/losses generated from trading that stake. So, of the total equity shown in the statement, only Tuesday's net profits (+212.10) and Wednesday's net profits (+243) count toward the $1,000,000 goal.

Best Wishes,

Thales
