Hello everyone!

 

A lot of people says that traders are like gamblers. Please post here anything that comes into your mind about this statement. And you can site here the difference between a gambler and a real trader. :boxing:

You can title this post almost anything...

 

Crossing the street vs. Gambling

 

For example. Crossing the street like a professional would be looking both ways, making sure there are no cars, and crossing with the light.

 

Gambling would be...closing your eyes...and stepping into the street in rush hour.

 

There's a right way and a wrong way to do everything. Just because the primary product of trading is money, some think it's the same as gambling.

 

Work has to do with money...why not compare that to gambling? If you go to your place of employment and you are reckless about the way you do things you are gambling with that employment. Same is true for the market.

 

Trading = learning how to determine value (technical, fundamental, etc.). Then using that knowledge to generate income.

 

Unsuccessful trading = having no edge, not defining an edge, loading up on a single .0001 cent stock, averaging down, cutting winners short, letting losers run.
