Please Suggest a Broker for Currency Futures

Recommended Posts

have a search Archie, this question crops up from time to time. The usual recommendations seem to be Interactive Brokers, OEC (mainly by Brown :D), Mirus, Amp, and a couple of others.

Thanks BlowFish for taking time to reply my query.

I have searched and searched and still I am not able to decide one.

I want to open an account with someone who meets following criterias:

- It should be a clearing member of CME and not an introducing broker.

- Minimum capital required is not more then $10000.

- A financially strong company with very good customer service and decent track record.

Can you recommend one on the basis of above mentioned criterias?

Interactive Brokers.

Good platform, good costs, higher than many margins (a good thing).

Currency cash and futures, stocks, futures incl non-electronic.

Overseas markets including Hong Kong, Australia, Taiwan, Japan etc etc.

This is what i found FCM vs introducing brokerages

FCM tends to have higher daytrade margin vs IBs

FCM tends to have higher commission vs IBs

As for strong company, many large FCM went bankrupt or being bought by another FCM. Here are the following

1) Alaron Trading was bought by PFG

2) Candent was bought by Penson

3) Refco (top 10 largest FCM) went bankrupted

and others

As of customer svc, it is depend on the broker u choose. If u want a good customer svc, u need to select a broker who is living off on commission vs salary.

Hope this help

Transact thru Infinity would be another one. Should be able to trade a few cars on a $10K account.

Can anyone please suggest a broker for trading currency futures on globex? I am looking for a FCM and not an introducing broker.

I think that you may try OEC. if you want to check currency rate, you may see CRC . FuturesPress is also a good broker you may concern
