Enhancing Trader Performance by Brett N. Steenbarger

Recommended Posts

Considering I read Steenbarger's blog almost everyday I can't believe it took me this long to pick up one of his books.

There is not much else to say other than that this is one of the best trading books ever written. Its really quite the opposite of any of the "how to make millions in the stock market" book. Dr. Brett pulls no punches as far as the realities of trading goes and basically lays out a blueprint here for those who take this game seriously and want to become truely expert traders.

While somewhat of a "trading pyschology" book it more or less pulls ideas from performance research in general and how to apply them to trading.

Really nothing else like it. The other part that makes this stand out is that Steenbarger obviously has a passion and talent for teaching/writing and this shines through in the clarity of the thought expressed in the book.

This is a serious psychologist or even psychiatrist, I read his first book which I believe has not been reviewed yet in here. Yes, pulls no punches - it is not uplifting experience to read him. Worthwile, professional, though remember - no one knows exactly how the mind works - it's minds hypothesising about the mind.

Here's a link to a review of this book that you may find fascinating.

Do you have a copy of the video, or another link? Doesn't seem to be working anymore.

I've said this numerous times - Brett is a great guy, and his books are a reflection of that. Make sure you read them.

He is coming out with a new book soon, should be good.

Just getting an error message saying IE cannot display webpage.

I bet if I was running IE 6 i would be ok. IE 7 just does my head in sometimes :crap:

Any solutions?

Thanks :)

Hi,

I had the same problem. Upon investigation, it turns out that http://www.ioamt.com'>http://www.ioamt.com (thanks DarthTrader for the hint) does not have an A (DNS) record  -

only ioamt.com resolves to IP 65.39.70.29.

The reversed tinyurl (removing the preceeding http://www.) points to:

Hope that helps.
