What is the Last Trading Day of the Year for You?

Recommended Posts

I have found that the big money traders usually go on vacation after the second week of December, which this year means after December 13.

Dec 13 to end of the year is holiday trading with low liquidity and inconsistent trade directions. Anything can happen during that time and one can get badly beaten up if one tries to ride the trend or forecast direction during that time.

Of course, there are always pairs and years that have proven the exception to the rule.

Today (17th) will be my last trading day... hope to catch some wild FOMC action. I always take off a week before Christmas. Not because of anything market related, but because I can. I love giving gifts but I hate shopping, so I tend to put it off until the last week.

Merry Christmas to you... hope it's been a good year.

My last trading day of the year depends on how good the business is in that year. If my balance sheet allows me,I take my break as early as 1st December otherwise I work up to 20th December.

Same for me except I am on break starting December 15th. I also do not trade in August and the first week of September.

And I usually -not always- do not trade during NFP's Fridays.

I try to avoid trading during "holiday periods", so for me between15th-20th december would be the last week of the year. I avoid trading in august as well.

I stopped trading in August as well. Seems like I always had a crap Q3.

And, It's the height of Summer where I live. Much better to be outside. :)
