Re: The Killer of MetaTrader, an Ass-kicking Trading Platform

Hello quicksilver03,

Such an option is available in PT multistation. You can minimize the Ribbon menu. This is possible in two ways:

1. Click on the small down arrow near the top left corner and then click "Minimize the ribbon".
2. In the next release it will be possible to do this by double clicking on the menu.

Re: The Killer of MetaTrader, an Ass-kicking Trading Platform

Is it true that brokers consider MT no longer cutting-edge enough for their changing needs, and are switching over to other platforms. If, so, what are the reasons?

Re: The Killer of MetaTrader, an Ass-kicking Trading Platform

MT5 is light years better than MT4. More timeframes were added. But I think it's not enough for MT to survive in a long run.

The competition is catching up Metatrader as far as platform propagation among brokers goes. An example (rebranded MultiCharts): Strategy Trader | FXCM

Not to mention the excellent job done by PT Multistation among brokers. An example (rebranded PT Multistation): RCG: Trading Platforms

Re: The Killer of MetaTrader, an Ass-kicking Trading Platform

The reason the bookies like MT is the server side technology, it allows for automating various types of 'shenanigans' if you are that way inclined . Ironically while the charting is not bad, order entry (arguably it's prime function as far as the bookies are concerned) is absolutely lousy (imho).
