New FireFox Review

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

I was having some issues w/ my old version of FF (v2) and finally upgraded to v3. It was pretty smooth - no major issues or anything here.

The problem I had earlier was my FF was getting over 600k in the mem usage and now we are at a cool 71k. I've read a few things online that talk about how FF can 'wear out' and you have to reinstall or upgrade, so I upgraded to the new version.

Looks nice!

Really liking this skin to - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7527

ONE WARNING - SOME ADD ON'S ARE NOT COMPATIBLE W/ NEW VERSION.
CHECK FIRST IF THERE IS AN ADD ON THAT YOU MUST HAVE.

Re: New FireFox Review

In my experience starting with the original V3 betas V2 add ons don't cause trouble, they simply don't work.

Try tiny menu for a 1 line menu/button bar with only the things you want. Excellent add ons are Adblock Plus (much better than any advert remover with IE), removetabs, Tiny Menu (if you don't like clutter) and FireFTP (if you do a bit of ftp'ing and would like to use your browser).

To add to Kiwi's list, I'd also recommend something like NoScript to protect against malicious javascript.

Re: New FireFox Review

Yes. Thats a good one MK.

Two others I used to have were Remove It Permanently to get rid of parts of pages that you can't classify as adverts and FoxClocks to put your important timezones on the status bar.

Re: New FireFox Review

IE tab is great too since some sites do not like FF. That way you don't have to boot up IE for a specific site.

Re: New FireFox Review

Tab Mix Plus is a must for Firefox.

IE Tab for compatibiliy issues.

No Script for browser integrity.

Fasterfox to speed up throughput.

GMail Manager for multiple GMail accounts.

FEBE for backing up all your Firefox extensions.

Re: New FireFox Review

FYI - tab mix plus not compatible w/ V3. There is some beta thing that you can download, but it's not available as a final release yet. That really sucks b/c I love tab mix plus.
