Hello Suri sir,

I read your interview regarding dragon pattern I have one doubt regarding the two legs

you mentioned it has to be in 5 to 10% range

It has to be in this range (5% is the minimum criteria)?

& also does it applicable to all timeframe like in 240-min & above?

I am uploading Gold 240 min chart does the Dragon pattern is correct?

Hi Taq,

Yes, it is a Inverse Dragon setup. Thanks for posting 240m chart.

No need to have 5% minimum for the Dragon legs. Dragon setup

is one of the variation of Double Tops/Bottoms. Very rarely

DT and DB's have perfect bottoms/tops.

Here is another take on the same @ZG 240m chart. It is

Trader Vic's 2B Top (Irregular Top/Bottom) with

Entry/Stop/Targets.

Regards,

Suri

Hi Taq,

Thank you for your post.

2B Targets are prior Swing Lows/Highs before the pattern

emerged and its distance ratios.

To my knowledge books from Scott Carney, Carolyn Borden,

Robert Miner, Larry Pesavento and Bryce Gilmore offered

timing analysis/projections theories. There may be others and

if I remember I will post again.

Suri

Hi Vishal,

Thank you for your post.

In H&S pattern, the target is obtained by subtracting the height of the head from the neckline.

The height of the head is the vertical distance between the neckline to the top of the head.

Eventhough, small H&S (small width/height) are viable patterns,

very rarely they materialize full and may be difficult to detect.

I would look for H&S patterns with atleast 8 number of bars in each

of the shoulder with a minimum of 2 pivot strength.

Regards,

Suri

do yoy consider only straight neckline or upto some angle (<=30 degree)?

& how you calculate tgts for those H&S?

I don't know maybe this week will be all about H&S only every major currency pair is making or already made one in 240-min chart.

Hi Vishal,

Thanks for your post....

Bearish Gartley patterns are very powerful patterns in the rising markets. They do signal end of the rising trend. But all X5 patterns (Gartley, Butterfly, Bat and Crab) have just about 50-60% success. I think market context is the key on how to trade them.

X5 patterns form in Two types --- Retracement and Expansion patterns. The 'D' point in the pattern determines which type of pattern it may be forming. If 'D' is inside the 'XA' swing, then it is Retracement pattern (Gartley and Butterfly). If 'D' is outside the 'XA' swing, then it is Expansion pattern (Bat and Butterfly). Within Expansion patterns, if the central point 'B' is less than 0.618 of XA then it is 'Crab' pattern and if 'B' is greater than 0.618 of XA then it is 'Butterfly' pattern. Although these precise ratios are never achieved in the patterns, perfect Butterfly requires 0.786 of XA Swing. Pl. refer to Scott Carney's books for all the other rules.

In the Copper 240m chart, you posted, 'D' is outside the 'XA' swing and hence it is an expansion pattern. Also, 'B' is about 0.7 of XA, hence it is a 'Bearish Butterfly' Pattern.

Here are the Copper's 240m and Copper's Daily Chart. They both are Bearish Butterfly patterns. I marked the potential Butterfly targets with Time-Cycles.

Regards,

Suri
